Friends who know the origin of Buddhism have heard of the two place names: Bamboo Garden and Goneness Garden. These two buildings are both Buddhist holy places. The former is called Zhulin Jingshe , located in Roshe City , and the latter is full of "Je Tree Gours the Lonely Garden", also known as Gion, located in Serve City .
They are important places for Sakyamuni to preach when he became a Buddha. They witnessed the growth of Buddhism and therefore became holy places for Buddhism. The bamboo forest temple in
was built earlier than the Jerusalem Garden. It was given to Sakyamuni by Bimbisara King . This is a large-scale building, including sixteen courtyards, each courtyard has sixty houses, a total of five hundred pavilions and seventy-two lecture halls.
From these numbers, we can see that the Zhulin Temple is a very grand building. The owner of the building is worthy of being the King of the Kingdom of Visara, otherwise it would not be able to be built.
The original owner of the Jerusalem tree is different. Its original owner is a natural person. Although it is also very rich, its financial resources cannot be compared with kings like King Visara. His name is Sudatha. Because of his sympathy for Sakyamuni's teachings, he bought a japonicus from someone else to the Garden of Lonely, and then gave it to Sakyamuni.
It should be pointed out that before Sudatah, the owner of the Jeta tree was the son of the Lonely Garden, Prince Geda, the son of King Persenathian . The prince often came to Gion to play, which was equivalent to a garden outside the palace.
As a prince, Jita naturally does not need to sell his own garden to exchange for money. The process of Sudatha buying it has another very interesting story...
According to legend, Sudatha heard about the method taught by Sakyamuni at his son's marriage, and was very amazed in his heart. After returning home to meditate, he admired him so much, so he begged Sakyamuni to go to Sarvas to preach.
But Sakyamuni told him that there is no problem in going to Sarvas to preach, but monks cannot live with lay people because everyone’s eating habits and daily routines are different.
In fact, this is Sakyamuni's tactful rejection of Sudatha, which means that it is not the time yet. Sudatha may not have understood the true meaning of it, but he was very worried about why monks cannot mingle with everyone.
Finally, Sudatus thought of a method, which was to build a separate quiet room for Sakyamuni in Shravas, so that there would be no obstacles to mingling.
After Sudatta's repeated request, Sakyamuni agreed to his request and sent Shariputra to the city of Sarvas with Sudatta.
After returning to Schaeve, Sudatau really carefully inspected the venue everywhere, hoping to fulfill his promise as soon as possible.
The place you can choose at the beginning cannot make Sariputa satisfied, because if the location is outside the city, it is not conducive to monks begging for food, and if the location is inside the city, it is very noisy, which is not conducive to monks' cultivation.
Finally, Sudatta took Sariputra through a garden. Sariputra fell in love with this place at a glance and told Sudatta what he thought.
Sudador was very happy. For him, the problems that could be solved with money were not a problem, so he asked the owner of the garden everywhere.
soon received the news, but Sudatta was stunned because he could not have imagined that the owner of this garden was Prince Jita. Since they are the prince, they still care about the amount of bad money you have?
But Sudatta had no choice but to bite the bullet and go to see Prince Jita. After learning about Sudatta's purpose, Jita couldn't help laughing and blamed Jita for not knowing the current affairs. He was the prince and liked this garden very much. How could he sell it to you, the nouveau riche?
Sudador was blamed and felt much more at ease. After all, if Jita didn't say anything, things would be difficult to do. As long as the prince said something, there would be a possibility of success.
So, Sudatta was soft and hard in front of Jita, which made Prince Jita very impatient, but he was kind-hearted and inconvenient to punish Xutata directly. Finally, he asked him a problem, saying that it is not impossible for you to buy my garden, as long as you can cover the ground with gold, the gold spent is the price.
After Sudado returned home, he immediately organized a gold transport team composed of eighty elephants, which was specifically responsible for transporting gold to the Jerusalem Garden.
The area of the Gion is about 80 hectares. How many gold coins are needed to cover the entire Gion with gold?
It is said that Sudatta finally devoted all his money, but in the end he was missing a gold coin and the vacant land was not covered. While worried, Jita was moved by his sincerity and said that even if I offered that place to the Buddha.
So, Jita finally sold Gion to Sudatha, who also offered it to Sakyamuni, and finally became the famous Gion to the Lonely Garden.
Later, with the help of Jita, Sudatau built twelve pagodas and seventy-two lecture halls in the garden, with a total of more than 500 buildings and 3,600 houses.
After everything was completed, Sakyamuni finally arrived at Raja City. He lived there for 25 years, and he became the place he had stayed for the longest time after becoming a Buddha.
