9:30 pm on September 20, the second lesson of Dazhao Master "The University" will be broadcast on time at the An Fund Headquarters. We have excerpted the wonderful clips and shared with you:
The "Great Learning to Stop Only then have concentration, Only then can you be calm, Only then can you be at peace, Only then can you be at peace, Only then can you be at peace, Only then can you be at peace, Only then can you be at peace, Only then can you be at peace, Only after thinking can you get it.
Things have the root of things, and things have the beginning of things. Knowing the order of the next step, then you will be in the near future." This short paragraph is also a subtle meaning. It mainly points out how to practice these three steps in the previous three points (clear virtue, being close to the people, and stopping at the highest good). How can I practice it? The most important thing about the Three Principles is a word called "knowledge".
Do we know that life has three pillars? Do you know that there is virtue? Do you know that it can be close to the people? Do you know that you can stop at the ultimate good? If you don’t know, then there is no way to practice and practice, so this lecture is the place for practice and practice in the "Great Learning". The "knowledge" is a link between the past and the future. The previous three outlines are where all the contents of "knowledge" are.
"The word of knowledge is the door to all wonders."
If you are ignorant, you cannot enter the truth of life in the universe. It just floats on the surface of the glittering light, and your views and attitudes towards life are also float on the surface. It is difficult to penetrate into the depths of your heart and the reality of the universe.
Then with this "knowledge", how do we get involved? This is what we are going to learn today. Among the classics of Confucian , including these sages from all dynasties of Confucianism, they did not call this passage a specific name. Nan Huaijin Mr. Nan Huaijin through the convergence of the three religions of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, and he called it the "seven proofs". Of course, many scholars now agree with this view. "Seven Certificates" are to put "knowledge" first, and "knowing, stagnation, concentration, calmness, peace, worry, and gain" are called "seven Certificates".
But in fact, this "knowledge" and "stop", from the point of view of the meaning of the text, "knowledge" is not parallel to the following six words. In other words, "knowing to stop will lead to concentration, knowing to calm will lead to calm, knowing to calm will lead to peace..." This "knowledge" is matched with the next six words, which means that there is this "knowledge" from beginning to end, and "knowledge" cannot be placed only in the first place of practice. Although it is the gate of enlightenment, we cannot put "knowledge" at the door, and we will be ignorant afterwards. Therefore, this "knowledge" is actually similar to the "ming" of "clear virtue". "Knowledge" means "clear", and "clear" means "know".
What we usually explain is that it is like the sun and the moon illuminates. Once the sun shines, the darkness will disappear, and we will see it. This is called brightness. This "knowledge" is when we quickly tell what we know. If you really know, you will speak without any false words, so it is called "knowledge". "Ming" and "Knowledge" are to continue this state of bright virtue in life and practice it.
Wang Yangming realized the truth in Dragon Field . After he realized the truth, he proposed the "unity of knowledge and action", and "knowledge" in "knowledge" is the "knowledge" of "unity of knowledge and action". What exactly is "knowledge" considered true knowledge? We usually say that I know too, I know I made a mistake, but I can't do it. I know I should practice, but I can't.
I know I need to be without me, but I can't do it. Then do you really know? Maybe not true knowledge. What is true knowledge?
True knowledge is the bright virtue. We have learned in the previous lecture. It is clear that virtue refers to the unity of virtue with heaven and earth, and the way of university is also the learning of the great way. You know that "big without outside, small without inside", and you know that our current heart is actually the heart of heaven and earth, that is, "big without outside, small without inside", that is, "it is always clear when it is not separated", "it is like a thing that is not in the middle", and the five aggregates are empty. When you transcend all things that are born and destroyed, phenomena, limited, narrow, and even the tangible and formful things of heaven and earth, and do not leave them, this is our true knowledge.
This "knowledge" actually runs through the entire life. It has the same virtue as heaven and earth, or transcends heaven and earth. Because of this "knowledge", you also know worries, you also know happiness, and you also know angry. But it doesn’t care about you being angry, you’re happy, or you’re suffering, it doesn’t care about you at all, it’s just responsible for knowing.
"Heaven and earth are not kind, and treat all things as straw dogs." So if we recognize the "knowledge" of , it is actually "conscience", which is the law of nature, and this "reason" that is inherently unfathomable. Only after you have this "knowledge" can you know where your life should stop.
