Sakyamuni Buddha introduced in the Amitabha Sutra that the Land of Ultimate Bliss is located in the west, ten thousand billions of Buddha lands away from our Saha World in the evil world of five turbidities. This place is a solemn, pure and equal world. All living beings are "all good people" and there is no suffering, so it is called "Ultimate Bliss". Such a beautiful Anyang world can only be seen after death. In this life, you can visit one of the four major jungles in Northeast China - Kek Lok Temple, which is also a pure land in the bustling city.

Kek Lok Temple was planned to be built in 1921 and completed in 1924. It was initiated by Chen Feiqing of the China Eastern Railway Inspection Bureau and others. It won the strong support of the patriotic general Zhu Ziqiao. The master presided over the creation. The first sutra that the master taught at the opening of the forum was "The Buddha Speaks of the Amitabha Sutra". The founders, Chen Feiqing and others, believed in the Pure Land Sect, so they named it "Kok Lok Temple".

Jile Temple is located at No. 9 Dongdazhi Street, Nangang District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. It covers an area of ​​53,500 square meters and a construction area of ​​3,000 square meters. It is divided into a main courtyard and a pagoda courtyard. On the central axis of the main courtyard are the Heavenly King's Hall, the Mahavira Hall, the Three Holy Temples, the Sutra Library and the Guanyin Hall.

Passing through the temple gate, you can see the bell tower and drum tower on the left and right sides. They are all exquisite pavilion-style buildings with yellow glazed tiles and spires. They are elegant and unique.

Facing the front is the Tianwang Hall, the first palace on the central axis. The gray brick walls are covered with yellow glazed tiles , and the four octagonal red windows are very eye-catching. There are two stone sculptures and six-tusked white elephants erected in front of the door, which are very rare.

"A big belly can accommodate the unbearable things in the world, and a kind face can always smile at the ridiculous people in the world." This couplet tells us that what is enshrined in the temple is Maitreya Buddha , with a golden body and a Dharma, kind eyebrows and kind eyes, and a smile to welcome all living beings. There are majestic seated statues of the four heavenly kings on both sides (the king of holding the country in the east, the king of growth in the south, the king of wide eyes in the west , and the king of hearing in the north ).

Behind the Heavenly King’s Hall is the Dharma Protector Hall, with a plaque with gold characters on a black background reading “Great Thousand Dharma Protectors” hanging above it. The couplets on the doorposts also demonstrate the majesty and domineering power of Skanda Bodhisattva: "A general can become a Buddha in a standing position, and a Bodhisattva born in heaven is good at subduing demons." The statue of Skanda Bodhisattva is enshrined in the red and gold-plated Buddhist niche in the temple.

Opposite the Skanda Bodhisattva is the Mahavira Hall. This is the most majestic building on the central axis. The front corridor is decorated with hangings between the pillars, especially the two five-clawed golden dragons entwined on the middle pillar. They dance with their mouths open and lively. A pearl hangs under the plaque of the Main Hall. It turns out to be two dragons playing with pearls. , so creative.

In the center of the temple, on the lotus throne, is Sakyamuni Buddha, with his hands tied in Buddha's seal, the Dharma is solemn and golden. There are also Ananda and Venerable Kasyapa erected on both sides of the Buddhist niche. There are also Eighteen Arhats golden body Dharma images on both sides of the temple.

Behind the main hall is the Guanyin Bodhisattva . On the lintel hangs a plaque with the words "Great Compassion and Great Compassion", and the intriguing couplets on both sides read "Ask the great master why he sits upside down, hating ordinary people and refusing to look back."

Opposite Guanyin Bodhisattva is the third temple on the central axis, the "Three Holy Temples", which enshrines the standing golden statues of the Three Saints of the West.

The fourth temple on the central axis is the Sutra Library.

Behind the Buddhist scripture building is the Guanyin Hall, the last Buddhist hall on the central axis. The overall layout is a courtyard. Entering from the Fude Gate, you will be shocked by the sight in front of you. The yellow glazed tile roof, red pillars and railings, surrounded by copper murals, are glowing and the Buddha's light is slowly shining.

Upon closer inspection, we found that the content of the mural is the thirty-two incarnations of Guanyin Bodhisattva, including Kinnara body, Buddha body, general body and so on. One of the murals is also engraved with the Heart Sutra. The characters are elegant and free. In the middle is the compassionate image of Guanyin Bodhisattva. I can't help but recite the Heart Sutra silently and bow my head in worship.

The middle hall hangs the plaque "Infinite Induction", and there is "Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva" on the doorpost. . Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is merciful and responds to all requests. It is true that prayers are answered in thousands of places, and the sea of ​​suffering is always a boat for people to cross.

In the hall, the golden body of Avalokitesvara is enshrined, and the Bodhisattva stands on the lotus platform. The left hand holds the pure vase, and the right hand holds the Buddha's seal. The Buddha's aura slowly spreads, the nectar in the vase is often sprinkled, and the willow branches in the hand do not care about autumn. On the left and right sides stand a good-luck boy and a dragon girl.

So far, all the temples on the central axis of the main courtyard of Kek Lok Temple have been visited. Next we go to the Tower Courtyard.

In the courtyard of the pagoda, there is a tall golden body of Amitabha, with lotus feet at its feet, a lotus stand with its left hand, and a drooping right hand. It has been standing for a long time waiting for the Saha guests. The golden light is shining, and the light of the Buddha is shining.

The temple behind the Buddha is the Amitabha Hall, in the center dedicated to the Three Saints of the West (Amitabha, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Mahasthamaprapta ). There are forty-eight golden statues of Amitabha Buddha around, representing the forty-eight great wishes of Amitabha Buddha and the beautiful Western Pure Land.

The seven-level pagoda in Kek Lok Temple is famous far and wide. It was built by Master Jinglang. The pagoda is divided into seven levels and is octagonal. It is a loft-style architectural style with an octagonal seven-story brick and wood structure.

The front of the pagoda is connected to Ksitigarbha Hall . In front of the hall is a rolling shed-style open hall. In the middle of the hall door hang two plaques of "Buddha Pagoda" and "Netherworld Leader". This kind of architectural form with connected towers and halls is unique and rare, and has important architectural and artistic value.

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, the leader of the Netherworld, is worshiped in the Ksitigarbha Hall. He is sitting half-lotus on the Listening Beast, holding a tin staff in his right hand and holding a pearl in his left hand, opening the door to hell and illuminating the boundless future.

There is also Five Hundred Arhat Hall in the pagoda courtyard. The arhats in the hall are all golden figures with different expressions and expressive expressions. Each one is lifelike. The whole temple is illuminated by the Buddha's light, and the golden sun is shining. In addition, there is riding a blue lion. Manjushri Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva riding a six-tusked white elephant.

The Medicine Master Hall in the pagoda courtyard is also beautifully built, and the Buddha statues enshrined in the hall are even more brilliant. In the center is the Medicine Master Buddha sitting in lotus lotus 2 On the lotus throne, there are also Sunlight Bodhisattva and Moonlight Bodhisattva erected on both sides. The dharma image of is surrounded by the twelve Dharma Protector Bodhisattva portraits. The spiritual light of the Buddha is slowly shining, which is extremely beautiful.

In addition, there are Thousand Hands and Thousand Eyes Guanyin Hall and the Reclining Buddha Hall in the pagoda courtyard.

There are also two very meaningful relic pagodas , one is Master Tanxu, the other is Abbot Cifa, both are abbots of Jile Temple. They are the forty-fourth and forty-fifth generations of the Tiantai Sect respectively.

After paying homage, you can come out from the mountain gate of the pagoda courtyard.

Every year on the eighth, eighteenth and twenty-eighth days of the fourth lunar month to celebrate the Buddha, Kek Lok Temple holds a grand temple fair. The crowds are buzzing, shoulders are crowded, incense is lingering, and Buddhist music is melodious. It can be said that "Buddha's light illuminates the prosperity of the nine continents, and the wisdom of the Dharma enlightens the world and brings peace to the world."
