The Korean people are an ancient nation, a hard-working nation, and a nation united with Sui. Emphasis on etiquette and justice is a major characteristic of the Korean people.

Korean weddings are even more colorful. In December 1986, on the order of the Military Department of Xinhua News Agency, I went to Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin Province for an interview, and was fortunate enough to attend a Korean wedding.

The wedding was held in a Korean family's home. It is both grand and lively. What impressed me most was that when the wedding car arrived at the groom’s house, the groom’s mother would sing and dance in front of the wedding car with her relatives and friends. Only in this way would the bride be willing to get out of the car. Then, the groom will carry the bride into the house. This is called holding the bride, which is an old tradition.

In addition, Koreans have a wide variety of meals, including dozens of small cold dishes. Another major feature is that after having had enough wine and food, singing and dancing begin. Men, women, old and young take part in the entertainment until late at night.

This Korean friend regards me as a noble guest and puts me at the head of the table, but I still have to take time to take photos, and my drinking level is too average... hahaha
