locks your style through the photography style function
With the help of iPhone 13, iPhone SE (3rd generation) and the updated photography style function on the model, you can personalize the style of the image in the "Camera" App. First select a preset style ("High Contrast", "High Saturation", "Warm Tone" or "Cool Tone"), and then adjust the "Hue" and "Cool Tone" settings as needed to further fine-tune the preset style. Style only needs to be set once, and your preferred style setting will be used every time you take a photo in photo mode.
Set photography style
When you open the "Camera" app for the first time, please tap "Settings" to select your photography style. Swipe to browse different styles, and then tap Use [Style Name] on your favorite preset style.
Please be sure to set your style before starting to take pictures, because after taking pictures, you will not be able to add a photography style to the photos.
Change your photography style
Want to change the set photography style? Simply open the "Camera" App, tap the arrow
, and then tap "Photography Style"
. "Standard" is the default style, with balanced and realistic effects and cannot be customized, but you can swipe left to see other customizable preset styles. Tap "Custom"
to adjust the "hue" and "color temperature" for the style you have selected.
uses macro photography and macro video functions to capture close-ups
iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. With a new ultra-wide-angle camera equipped with advanced lenses and autofocus systems, this feature can still focus clearly up to 2 cm from the subject, allowing for stunning close-ups. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max can also shoot macro videos, including slow motion videos and time-lapse videos.
In "Photo" and "Video" modes, the device can automatically perform macro shooting. Simply put your iPhone close to the subject and the camera will automatically switch to the ultra-wide camera (if you haven't selected the ultra-wide camera before), while keeping your viewing state. To shoot macro slow motion video or time-lapse video, select the ultra-wide camera (0.5x) and get close to the subject.
When you bring your iPhone closer or away from your subject, you may see the "Camera" app automatically switch to the ultra-wide camera. To control automatic macro switching, you can go to Settings, Camera, and turn on Macro Control. After turning on "Macro Control", when the distance between the iPhone and the subject is within the macro range, the "Camera" App will display the macro button
. Tap the macro button to turn off automatic macro toggle, tap it again to turn on automatic macro toggle again.
If you turn on "Macro control", the next time you use the camera when it is very close to the subject, automatic macro switching will be enabled. If you want to keep the Macro Control settings unchanged every time you use the camera, go to Settings, Camera, and Keep Settings, and then turn on Macro Control.
uses the quick recording function to capture videos
uses the quick recording function to record videos without exiting the photo mode. Quick recording function is provided on iPhone XS, iPhone XR and newer models.
Press and hold the shutter to record video
After opening the "Camera" App, you will see the default photo mode. Tap the shutter button
to take photos. Then tap the arrow
to adjust the options, such as flash, live photos, timers, etc.
If you want to shoot a quick record video, just press and hold the shutter button
*. Release this button and stop recording.
In iOS 14 and later, you can press and hold any volume button to shoot quick recording videos. If you enable "Use Volume Up Key Continuous Shooting", you can use the Volume Down button to shoot a quick record video.
Slide right to lock recording
To continue recording video but do not want to hold down the shutter button, please slide the shutter button to right
and then release. After locking the video recording, a shutter button will appear on the right. Tap the shutter button
to take still photos during video recording. When you are ready to stop recording, tap the Record button.
Slide left to enter continuous shooting mode
Slide left shutter button
and hold it to take multiple photos in a row, then release the shutter button to stop taking pictures.
In iOS 14 and later, you can press the Volume Up button to take photos in continuous shooting mode. Simply go to Settings Camera and turn on "Shoot with Volume Up Keys".
* To record video using custom resolution, stereo audio and audio zoom functions, switch to video mode.
uses sports mode to shoot more stable videos
With the help of the sports mode functions on each model of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, you can shoot smooth videos even if the handheld device moves and shoots while shooting.
- Open the Camera App and swipe to enter video mode.
- Tap the button to turn on the motion mode.
- Tap the shutter button and record the video.
Motion mode works best when there is plenty of light, and if the light is too dark, the camera will show "need more light". To use the Sport Mode in low light conditions, you can change the settings.
- In the Settings App, tap Camera.
- Tap “Record Video”.
- Open "Sports Mode Low Light".
Motion mode can shoot videos at 1080p or 2.8k resolution, up to 60 frames per second. Sport mode supports Dolby Vision HDR; on all iPhone 14 Pro models, Sport mode supports Apple ProRes video format.
Adjust focus and exposure
Before taking a photo, the camera automatically sets focus and exposure, and the facial recognition function will balance the exposure of multiple faces. You can use the exposure compensation control function to accurately set and lock the exposure of the upcoming picture.
Just click the arrow

and adjust the exposure level. Exposure will remain locked until you open the Camera app next time.

Shooting mirror selfie
In iOS 14 and later, you can take mirror selfies, and the picture you take is the same as what you see in the camera view frame. To turn on Mirror Front Lens, go to Settings Camera, and turn on this setting.
has the "Mirror Front Lens" function on iPhone XS, iPhone XR and newer models with iOS 14 or later, which can be used to take photos and videos. If you are using iPhone 6s to iPhone X, this setting is called "mirror front photo" and can only be used to take photos.
Take photos faster
You can modify the processing of images using priority quick shooting, allowing you to take more photos when you quickly tap the shutter button
. To turn off this feature, go to Settings, Camera, and turn off Priority Quick Shooting.

Enhance the effect of selfies and ultra-wide-angle photos
With the help of lens correction function, when you use the front camera to selfie or use the ultra-wide-angle (0.5x) lens to take photos, the camera automatically enhances the photo effect, making the photos look more natural. To turn off this feature, go to Settings Camera and turn off Lens Correction.
