So when we have basically no problem with composition, we must rely on the powerful post-qi period to change and improve the light, enrich and polish the details, and more importantly, to integrate emotions, atmosphere and your understanding of this artistic conception.
Let’s first look at this original picture. It was taken at about 5:00 pm. At this time, the sun’s rays have been blocked by some trees on the horizon. Whether in direct form or indirect reflection, there is no way to shine on the main body. But the camera shot of this broken lotus leaf at an excellent angle, so I took it.
So now we go back to the ACR interface and open this original image. First, in order to change the plain color effect of this image, I entered the calibration panel and performed a cyan color treatment on the tone. Adjust the blue primary color phase-47, saturation-39, and correspondingly reduce the saturation of the blue primary color, green primary color phase +71, saturation +87, red primary color phase +74, saturation +93. Quickly call up the calibration principle mentioned in : If we need to move three colors, then the two colors should be adjusted to the same color, and the other color must be adjusted to the opposite direction . So, I adjusted the red primary color and green primary color to the right, so my blue primary color must be adjusted to the left.
Then I entered color grading and separated the image in tone. See the figure for specific parameters.
After adjusting the tone, I returned to the basic interface. The overall color temperature has been reduced to make the picture more blue-blue tone, and at the same time, the tone has been added, making it deviate towards blue-blue and magenta. I increased the value of exposure by +0.45; contrast +71; in order to protect the tone and level of the bright part, highlight -80; shadow +68 to improve the details of the dark part; white +42; black +9, reducing the dead black part of the picture.
clarity increased by +16; on the overall basis, the natural saturation was increased by +77; and on the other hand, the saturation was reduced by -15, forming a hedge. After completing these adjustment steps, the adjustments we made in ACR have basically laid the overall tone and direction of the picture. Then we can enter Photoshop to open the picture, perform fine polishing and final modification, and further improve the picture.
After we enter Photoshop, we first select stain repair brush tool to remove and repair dirty spots and spots in the picture. For example, the lotus leaves exposed on the left part of this picture and some local stains. In the first step, we need to remove them to avoid visually interfering with subsequent work.
Then we add a color balance adjustment layer to the picture, and further change the overall color tone by controlling shadow , intermediate tone , and highlight .
Then we select the filter, enter the Camera Raw filter, click radial filter , further brighten the areas where the picture needs to improve the light sense and control the formation of light effects.
After completing the above operation, we can add a method to brighten and darken the hyperbolic , select the dodging tool with an exposure of 20%, and select the shadow in the range, and continuously paint on the layers of the brightening curve and darkening curve respectively to brighten the details of more parts, enrich the layers and highlight the texture.
Use hyperbola to brighten or darken all details of the picture to highlight the details, texture and layers of the picture. It is a very time-consuming process. It will take about 30 to 40 minutes, which is also the most interesting and fun place in the entire photo editing process. Many light and highlights can be highlighted at this step.
We have basically completed the adjustment of this picture, and then we copy a layer, select the filter-other-high contrast retain , enter the radius value of 3.5 (the general value is set between 2-4), and just see the texture clearly in the enlarged small thumbnail. Then we click OK, and then change the layer's blending mode to and overlay , and complete the creative image sharpening .
Finally, save the final rendering in JPEG format. The rest is to shrink the pictures into small pictures according to your needs to display your works on the Internet, and do thumbnail sharpening work.
