Tips for shooting children
When it comes to portrait photography, children are one of the most "hard" models. Being too active, on a whim, curious, and afraid that adults will hold big things (camera) in their hands... It is very difficult to take pictures of children.
They either crawl away or run away, and if you suddenly manage to take them in the right place at the right time, then in nine out of ten the picture is not what you want.
So how to take better photos for your children?
shooting children is one of the most challenging photo shoots. Whether you are a professional photographer, an amateur, or just a father holding a camera, the behavior of the children is unpredictable.
They move quickly, do not follow pose instructions, touch your camera and create chaos around you.
1. Choose the right venue
This time I created a group of children's nostalgic time themes from the 1990s. First, I went to the old street to see the venue
I found it suitable, so I set several cameras to shoot at the shooting venue.
2. Choose the right clothes for shooting. Props
The clothes worn by children in the 1990s were bought online, and the props and clothes should be coordinated with the venue environment. Small vests and shorts, watermelons, sodas, paper airplanes, etc., the more you become, the more natural these elements become.
3. Let children participate in creating
. One thing that is very helpful for ideal shooting is to let children participate in the photography process.
allows children to explore the environment, allowing them to be proud of a certain topic or play, and it is easier to obtain natural photos of their children.
4. Maintain a safe shutter speed and catch the children's movements
. If you shoot in semi-automatic or manual mode, please ensure high-speed shutter speed. Children are always moving, which can ensure that the photos are avoided blurred.
The children are moving all the time. Trampolines, slides, carousels, sports, these activities that children enjoy. When capturing dynamic works, set the camera to a safe shutter speed. If you are still using automatic settings, use only the motion settings.
5, high-speed continuous shooting
Today, major camera manufacturers in the world are scrambling to launch reflectionless flagship models, all with high speed, high pixels, and high sensitivity, benchmarking sports and ecological (animals, birds) photography benchmark
set to shoot in a "continuous shooting" way, that is, shooting at still frames of 5-20, 30, or even 120 pictures per second. You can capture interesting poses and rich expressions to capture wonderful moments.
6. Take a picture of the child's vision level
. You must sit down as high as him to shoot - only in this case, the child's proportion will not be distorted.
7. Pay attention to composition
Unless your artistic intention requires, photo crop composition is mainly to cut off the arms, legs or head. Please avoid details that affect sight and distract attention, such as noticing that there are no trees growing on your head, etc.
8, select the best shooting position, foreground and background
When the child is having fun, quickly find the shooting position. Pay attention to the foreground and background of taken, so that you can get satisfactory photos when you have time to press the shutter.
9. Finally, be patient
. Children are usually very active and are not always ready to follow the instructions. So try to make friends with them in a short time. They should be happy to play with you. Once you get familiar with them, you take pictures of them with your camera.
Kids will ignore the presence of the camera, and such photos will usually appear more natural.
When shooting becomes a game, even the most restless child will become the active creator of shooting. Be more patient and you can also take good photos!
