In summer, the time to pick lotus pods has arrived as promised.
In mid-July, the first wave of lotus pods enter the picking period. They pick lotus pods in the morning and lotus flowers in the afternoon. The lotus farmers either wear water pants and homemade anti-mosquito gauze hats, or wear rubber shoes, hats and towels to look for and pick under the huge lotus leaves.
When the lotus pods first grow and the lotus seeds are just filling, they can be used as raw materials for flower arrangements together with the buds and leaves. When the berries are full but not yet fully ripe, the lotus seeds at this time retain the natural freshness coming from the water and soil. When you peel it open, your mouth is full of fragrance. It can relieve summer heat, relieve internal heat, nourish the liver and strengthen the spleen. It is the most popular snack among the public. ——This is also the best picking season for Baiyangdian lotus pods.
