Recently, Samsung launched a new generation of 200-megapixel camera sensor ISOCELL HP3. Ten months ago, the world's first 200-megapixel camera sensor was the ISOCELL HP1 launched by Samsung.
So what are the characteristics of this new sensor?

ISOCELL HP3 measures 1/1.4 inches, has a resolution of 200 million pixels and a unit pixel length of 0.56μm. The pixel size is reduced by 12% compared to the previous generation, making the new sensor suitable for more devices, and the module area is reduced by 20%. It can capture 14-bit images and supports up to 4 trillion colors.
Samsung ISOCELL HP3 also has a super QPD autofocus mechanism, all pixels support autofocus function, which can make autofocus faster and more accurate.
ISOCELL HP3 is also capable of recording 4K 120fps video and 8K 30fps video. Unlike Samsung's 100-megapixel camera sensor, its 200-megapixel sensor can shoot 8K video and get a wider field of view.
Thanks to pixel all-in-one technology, the new sensor can take high-quality photos of 50 million pixels (four in one) or 12.5 million pixels (sixteen in one). Other features of the ISOCELL HP3 include Smart ISO Pro, which captures images by combining three conversion gains (High ISO, Medium ISO and Low ISO) for better dynamic range.
Samsung said mass production of ISOCELL HP3 sensors will begin later this year.
