After the epidemic was released, almost all my friends around me were infected at home. In the
circle of friends, everyone is sharing their various symptoms after having "yang": fever, body aches, headaches, sore throats, buttocks pain... Those who don't have yang, while they are glad that they have "advanced" to the "finals", they can't help but start all kinds of "phantom yang".
After reading many reports and sharings, most people treat it like a cold, thinking that it is just a fever for two or three days, and that it will basically be cured when the fever goes away.
Is this really the case?
Our family’s illness process took a long time. At first, it was my son who fell ill first, with a high fever of 39.4°C.
Since the child did not wear a down jacket during physical education class the first day, we thought he might just catch a cold, so we gave him some cold medicine that night. At that time, it had just been released for about a week, and no one thought about the "yang" aspect.
The next day, my son felt weak all over. He said he felt pain everywhere and his mental state was very bad. It was very different from previous fevers. Since the child was sick, we had been mainly giving massage, so the next day, we still invited him to come to the house for massage. He had fever repeatedly for three days, and on the fourth day, his temperature finally dropped (without taking antipyretics).
At this time, the child's grandma also started to have a fever. By the evening, the fever reached 38.8°C, and she also felt uncomfortable in her throat. Only then did we realize that it might be "Yang".
The whole family immediately replaced the ordinary masks they were wearing with N95 masks, and let the elderly live in the master bedroom with a bathroom to avoid contact with us as much as possible.
On the third day when the old man had a fever, I inevitably got a fever and moved into the master bedroom. I also had a sore throat, pain all over my body, and pain in my bones. I couldn't sleep well all night. But my body temperature kept hovering at 38.3°C, so I didn’t take antipyretics.
On the second day, my body temperature did not change, but my throat began to feel uncomfortable. After taking some medicine for my throat, I stayed in bed for another day.
On the third day, my husband started to have a fever. My body temperature dropped to below 38°C. My whole body no longer ached, but I started to cough. The burden of cooking and buying groceries fell on my mother.
At that time, her symptoms were relieved. She thought that after four or five days, it would be nothing serious, so she started doing various busy things. But soon, she felt a little powerless. Fortunately, I am gradually getting better and can help with some work.
My daughter was the last one with a "yang" fever, and her fever reached as high as 39.3 that night. At that time, the massage girl had stopped coming to the door. I stayed overnight. Because the child's hands were always hot and felt a little damp, I didn't give her any antipyretic medicine. (Children who don’t know much about the child’s constitution, or who have a history of febrile convulsions, must not resist. They should take antipyretics when it’s time to take them.)
Her disease course was the fastest. She had a fever for a day and a night, and almost slept for a day and a night, and then the fever subsided. I was able to play with my brother on the third day and had no other obvious symptoms.
From the first person to "Yang" to the last person to "Yang", our family experienced about two weeks.
But will everything be fine after the "yang" passes? not necessarily.
My mother still feels low on energy and can easily get out of breath after walking a few steps quickly; my husband has had fever several times and still has a severe cough; my daughter's illness seemed to have the shortest course, but after more than a week, it was obvious that she couldn't keep up with her physical strength. She complained of being tired when walking up a small slope.
Therefore, we all agree that it is much more powerful than a cold, so don’t relax too early.
For the first wave of "yang", it took another one or two weeks to recover. I have summarized some experiences and feelings about fighting "yang" to share with you:
1. No matter when, the whole family must take precautions.
Looking back now, there were three days between my son's fever, my child's grandma's fever, and my fever. This should be attributed to our insistence on wearing masks, opening windows for ventilation regularly every day, disinfecting and cleaning tableware, etc.
did not fall ill together, which bought us time to take care of each other and recover, so that we would not be deprived of hot meals.
In addition, parents must take care of themselves first before taking care of their children. After communicating with other mothers in the group,
found that children's symptoms are basically milder than those of adults, and they recover faster. Therefore, if conditions permit, adults may wish to live separately from their children after being infected to protect themselves first.
In addition, even after "passing the sun", you still need to wear an N95 mask when going out for protection.
2. Prescribe the right medicine after a fever
Parents are most worried when their children have a fever.
Firstly, the child is too young, and it may be difficult to express clearly what is uncomfortable; secondly, the child's immunity and resistance are weak, and it is easy for the child to have a high fever, and requires careful care to recover faster.
So, what should you do if your child has a fever?
For babies under 3 years old, if they are in a bad mental state, are lethargic, and have a body temperature exceeding 38.5°C, they must take antipyretics to avoid high fever convulsions. If the high fever is accompanied by other symptoms, you may wish to seek medical treatment as soon as possible to avoid delaying the condition.
For older children, if their mental state is good, there are no other symptoms, and their diet is okay, they can use physical cooling appropriately, and at the same time urge the children to drink more warm water in small sips. If your child's hands and feet are warm or even moist, it doesn't matter if the body temperature is slightly higher.
If the child's body temperature has exceeded 38.5°C and his hands and feet are still cold, it means that the body temperature will continue to rise. If parents are worried, they can give their children antipyretics.
My two children have been receiving massage since they were young. They rarely take medicine. Their physical fitness is relatively good and they have no other symptoms. So even though the fever reached 39.3℃ this time, I didn’t take antipyretics.
3. Don’t be careless after "Yang Kang". Avoid strenuous exercise and overeating.
This "war epidemic" is mainly caused by fever. Many people think that returning to normal body temperature means that the disease is cured.
In fact, this is not the case. It has much more "stamina" than an ordinary cold.
- Avoid strenuous exercise: Although it seems to be "healthy", the human body is still relatively weak at this time and needs to continue to recuperate and ensure adequate sleep, otherwise the condition will easily recur.
- Avoid overeating: During the recovery period, you should still focus on light meals. Children's spleen and stomach functions are weak. Too much food with too strong flavors will increase the burden on the child's gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, don’t rush to give your child supplements or eat too much at this time.
is the best, you must maintain a good attitude. Don't be too anxious and don't be too worried.
Since "yang" is inevitable in the general environment, then keep a good attitude towards it.
Let children develop good habits of wearing masks, washing hands frequently, not touching things randomly, and take daily protection. After getting sick, don’t take medication randomly or over-medicate. Only by staying calm in times of crisis can you recover faster.
