On May 28, 2000, a pregnant woman in Fujian gave birth to a pair of children who looked like twins but not twins. These two children were indeed pregnant in the mother's body at the same time, but they were not completely separated when they were born. They were connected from the navel to the perineum, which is medically called "silent bone conjunct" !
Three months after the birth of the two children, they successfully performed isolation surgery at Zhejiang University Children's Hospital on August 28, 2000. At that time, this was the fifth case in the country and the first successful case of conjoined infant in Zhejiang.
Unfortunately, my sister died due to organ failure, and my sister Beibei survived very strongly.
and 6 surgeries were performed during
Even after the operation was successful, the body was still incomplete. I had to carry stoma pocket (mainly for feces, urine and excrement), and it had to be replaced every three days. At that time, I also found that she was " bicorner uterus " . The bicorner uterus can easily cause infertility.
Such a lucky conjoined baby with a broken body, it is not easy to live!
22 years ago, how are the survivors of the first conjoined infant separation surgery in Zhejiang now?
★Have a husband who loves me
Although Beibei is physically incomplete, she survives by chance and can grow up relatively healthy under the attention of her parents.
Bei did not continue to go to school when he was 16 years old, but went out to work. When he was working in a factory, he met his true destiny.
My husband knew her situation I didn’t dislike her hers, and later the two got married.
This is really a very lucky thing.
★Have a healthy child
Bei probably hesitated after meeting her husband, worried that she would not be able to give birth to a child under such physical condition. Fortunately, when the two were in love,Bei found out that she was pregnant, and after she got pregnant, she successfully received her marriage certificate and held the wedding.
In 2019, they gave birth to a healthy child . Now their child is over three years old. The doctor evaluated the child's condition and found that has a very good exercise ability , which is better than ordinary children. He is considered a healthy and cute child!
★The small defect in the body did not affect her
Beibei now uses iodine to clean the stoma every day, and has to replace stoma pocket every three days. Compared with normal people, she cannot wear pants that are too tight, otherwise it will easily lead to incontinence.
But Now that she has children and a happy family, she is also very satisfied!
So as , the survivor of the first conjoined baby isolation surgery in Zhejiang 122 years ago, I am living a good and happy life now!
How did conjoined baby be produced?
Conjoined babies are actually abnormalities in monozygous twins .
Twins are divided into double-egg twins and single-egg twins .
①Double-egg twins
As the name suggests, means that the mother discharges two eggs during ovulation period, and forms two children with her father's two sperm.
These two children, because sperm and egg are different, the genetic gene is not exactly the same .
The two children's blood type may have different genders and may not look very similar on the outside. They may even have two placenta when they are pregnant!
②Single-egg twins
refers to the mother who only discharges one egg during the ovulation period, and only forms a fertilized egg with one sperm of her father. This fertilized egg will form
Type 1: Double amniotic sacs Double chorionic monoepithelial twin
split within three days after fertilization, and two independent fertilized eggs will form, and the placenta may be one or two.
Type 2: Double amniotic sac monochorionic twin
division occurs 4 to 8 days after fertilization. At this time, because the embryo is in the blastocyst stage , the placenta is one, and the two amniotic sac have two layers of amniotic membranes, which is the most common type of twins.
Type 3: Single amniotic sac monochorionic single egg twin
split on the 9th to 13th after fertilization of . The two fetuses of share one amniotic cavity , and share one placenta.
Type 4: conjunction twins
fertilized egg splits after 13th day of fertilization of . Because at this time, the original embryo of has been formed, it cannot be completely divided into two, forming different forms of conjunctions. This form is relatively rare, and the incidence rate is 1/1500 for single-egg twins.
So although twins are enviable, they also have risks.
