august 30th marks the 100-day countdown to the 12th national games for persons with disabilities (ngd) and the 9th national special olympic games (nsog). according to organizers, there are 15 events in the guangdong competition region scheduled to take place in advance. as of now, three events have been held, and the remaining 12 will take place before the opening ceremony. across the country, a total of 9,735 athletes with disabilities and coaches have confirmed their participation, making this the largest-ever edition of the ngd and nsog.
regarding venue renovations, the guangdong competition region comprises 36 competition venues, of which 22 are shared with the 15th national games, and 14 are dedicated exclusively to the 12th ngd and 9th nsog. all are renovated from existing ones, making this the edition with the fewest newly built venues to date.
additionally, nearly 80% of the 1,160 urban quality improvement projects have been completed. green channels and barrier-free access facilities have been constructed at 7 airports and 25 high-speed rail stations. enhancement of the road and environmental conditions on competition routes is nearly complete, and a comprehensive medical security system has been established.
with regard to hong kong and macao, hong kong will stagethree events of boccia, wheelchair fencing, and table tennis (tt11) for the ngd, one event of table tennis for the nsog, and onemass participation event of para dance sport. macao will host the badminton competitions for both games, where 28 gold medals will be awarded.
technological elements are deeply integrated into every aspect of the games. in guangzhou, "brain-computer interface technology empowering athletes with severe disabilities", "comprehensive navigation for persons with disabilities", and other scenarios are precisely tailored to event needs. smart glasses for visually impaired people and stair-climbing wheelchairs have been introduced at the cycling venue in longgang, shenzhen. at the nanhai sports center in foshan, a sign language translation system has been installed.
倒計時100天！殘特奧會參賽人數創新高
8月30日是殘特奧會倒計時100天。記者了解到，殘特奧會廣東賽區提前比賽項目共有15項，截至目前已開展3項，還有12項將在開幕式前舉辦。全國已有9735名殘疾人運動員、教練員報名參加，總規模創歷屆殘特奧會新高。
場館改造方面，廣東賽區共有36個比賽場館（場地），其中22個與十五運會共用，14個為殘特奧會專用，且均為現有場館改造，是歷屆殘特奧會新建場館最少的一屆。
此外，1160個城市品質提升項目完工率近80%；7個機場、25個高鐵站點的綠色通道和無障礙通道建成，涉賽道路基本完成路域環境整治，全覆蓋醫療保障體系也已構建。
港澳方面，香港將承辦殘奧項目硬地滾球、輪椅擊劍、乒乓球（tt11組）及特奧項目乒乓球，還會舉辦大眾項目輪椅舞蹈。澳門則將承辦兩大運動會羽毛球項目，屆時將產生28枚金牌。
科技元素將深度融入賽會每一處細節。廣州賽區推出的「腦控技術賦能重度殘疾運動員」「殘障人士全域導航」等場景，精準匹配賽事需求；深圳龍崗殘特奧會自行車賽場引入導盲眼鏡、爬樓輪椅；佛山南海體育中心引入手語翻譯系統。
