The Belgian driver finished second in the final round of the world championship on the Seoul circuit in South Korea. This result was enough to give him a comfortable 30-point lead over the runner-up, New Zealander Mitch Evans, in a Jaguar.
The Kortrijk-based rider, who started karting competitions at the age of 6, has just completed the best in a list of achievements that includes the Formula 4 world title in 2010 and the GP2 title in 2015, as well as a few Formula 1 races, with a wonderful second place at the Bahrain Grand Prix in 2016.
