The first integration of the Internet of Vehicles and driverless driving! The 12th "China Smart Car Future Challenge" was held in Changshu, Suzhou

On November 21st, the 12th "China Smart Car Future Challenge" was held in Changshu, Suzhou. There are 22 teams registered for this competition, including the newly emerging driverless smart car R&D team, teams working with car manufacturers, and corporate fleets.

In order to effectively solve the practical application problem of the "last mile" of unmanned vehicle travel in urban areas, promote the high integration of intelligent transportation system, Internet of Vehicles and unmanned driving technology, and improve the safety and traffic efficiency of unmanned driving. In terms of content settings, the Future Challenge will highlight the vehicle-road collaboration, the ability of unmanned vehicles to recognize traffic scenes, and the safety, adaptability, agility and intelligence in a real complex and dynamic traffic environment.

is different from previous competitions which only examined the intelligence of bicycles. This competition requires the participating vehicles to fully autonomously simulate the task of picking up and dropping passengers in a real urban dense traffic environment. The efficiency of autonomous and safe continuous shuttle services provided by unmanned vehicles is used as the evaluation index. This competition requires the participating vehicles to fully autonomously start from the underground or surface parking lot, continuously provide driverless travel services within the specified time of 90 minutes in the real complex and dynamic road traffic environment, and return to the parking lot within the specified time. The number of effective services and its difficulty level are integrated to calculate the score.

It is understood that compared with previous competitions, this competition combines the Internet of Vehicles technology with driverless technology for the first time. Adopting 4G-LTE communication network and Beidou satellite navigation technology, combined with road monitoring video streams and other information, through multi-channel information fusion, real-time interpretation of road traffic congestion status, and two-way information between the intelligent traffic monitoring center cloud platform and multiple unmanned vehicles Channel, real-time release of road network dynamic traffic status information, so that unmanned vehicles can use real-time road condition information to plan and decide the optimal route in time, and improve the efficiency and safety of completing unmanned travel services.

is different from the unmanned vehicle testing and service of technology companies, express companies and auto manufacturers. This competition tested the ability of multiple unmanned smart cars to continuously complete multiple tasks simultaneously in the real complex dynamic typical urban road traffic environment . Traffic scenes are set up with road closures, construction borrowed lanes, lane occupations, conical sign guidance and other construction control sections, as well as sections with missing satellite navigation signals, and set up multiple types of pedestrians, unmanned vehicles, manned vehicles, and sanitation vehicles. Driving scenes, together with dense moving obstacles, form a real traffic flow. At the same time, this competition uses Beidou satellite navigation to build a map of the driving environment suitable for unmanned vehicles, and examines the autonomous positioning and perception capabilities of unmanned vehicles that do not rely on satellite navigation signals, especially the addition of autonomous vehicles from underground garages and other tests. content.
