A few days ago, in Shanghai’s Pudong Zhangjiang Science City, the Shanghai Integrated Circuit Design Industrial Park and Zhangjiang Headquarters Park both announced the opening of the park. The total investment is expected to be no less than 50 billion yuan. The new development carrier will strongly promote the innovation of the source of science and technology, and provide a strong impetus for the high-quality development of the regional economy.

After Shanghai’s “22 Measures for the Construction of Science and Innovation Centers” were issued, Pudong accelerated the promotion of IPOs and financing of unprofitable but promising science and innovation companies. In July last year, Pudong's Micro and Micro Company landed on the Sci-tech Innovation Edition. This integrated circuit upstream company solved the financing problem by going public. At present, companies have overcome a number of technical difficulties.
Pudong also adopted process reengineering and launched the "One Net Office" for work permits for foreigners to come to China, reducing the processing time for work permits and residence permits by 60%.
Now, Shanghai Pudong has more than 2,900 high-tech enterprises and more than 1.4 million talents of various types. There are more than 400 experts in Zhangjiang Science City, including Nobel Prize winners, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Sciences, and overseas high-level talents.
At present, from chips to tablets, from domestically produced large airplanes to luxury cruise ships, from basic research to achievement transformation, Pudong has "full firepower" and formed six leading industries including biomedicine, integrated circuits and artificial intelligence. Pudong plans that by 2025, these six leading industries will reach the scale of "100 billion yuan", and 10 large scientific facilities and a national laboratory will be built at the same time.
