Without realizing it, Microsoftml4 has entered its tenth year of launching Surface tablets. This year's Surface Pro 9 has also entered a new stage, allowing users to choose ARM processor (SQ3) or Intel's 12th generation Core i5/i7 for the first time, that is, to integrate the previous Surface Pro X product line into Surface Pro 9.
ARM architecture is equipped with 5G
This year's Surface Pro 9 optional ARM processor version, which uses the SQ3 processor developed jointly by Microsoft and Qualcomm. Its battery life is up to 19 hours, which is 3.5 hours more than the 15.5 hours of the Intel processor version. In addition, the ARM version has more built-in 5G, allowing users to access the Internet anytime, anywhere, but the Intel version does not have 5G function.
software compatibility is very different
Note that the 5G version of Surface Pro 9 uses an ARM architecture processor, so it cannot use x86 software in a native way. Although ARM version of Windows can still run in simulated mode, its performance will be lower than that of x86 processor, so users should consider the cooperation on the software.
In addition, the 5G SQ3 version can be equipped with up to 16GB of RAM, while the Intel version can be equipped with up to 32GB of RAM. The 5G SQ3 version has 2 groups of USB-C, and as for Intel, there are 4 groups of Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Mixed and Match Device Appearance
Surface Pro 9 also allows users to "mixed and Match" the appearance of the device. For example, you select one color for your Surface Pro host and then match another color to the keyboard to highlight your personal style.
5G SQ3 version is priced higher
Microsoft will officially launch Surface Pro 9 on October 25th, with the Intel version starting at US$999.99, and the 5G SQ3 version starting at 1,299.99.
