Microsoft has confirmed another issue in the recently released Windows 11 2022 update. Ned Pyle, chief project manager of the Windows Server Engineering Group, published an article on the Technology Community Forum warning users of performance degradation when copying large files from a remote computer to a system running the latest version of Windows 11.

According to Ned, the Windows11 2022 update version users may reduce throughput through SMB by 40% when copying large files weighing several gigabytes or more. This error does not affect the initial version of Windows 11, so users who insist on using previous versions will not experience problems copying files from remote computers.

Interestingly, this error is not exclusive to SMB, which means that users may notice performance degradation even when copying local files. While Microsoft is busy investigating this issue and finding a fix, affected customers can use Robocopy or xcopy with /J parameters to recover lost performance, expecting to hear from Microsoft about this issue soon.

Microsoft recently admitted another issue that is exclusive to the latest Windows 11 version. The company said users who use specific printer drivers may lose some features such as color, double-sided printing, paper size settings, etc. Affected devices will not receive mitigation updates until Microsoft has a permanent fix.
