Webmaster's Home (ChinaZ.com) September 29th news: iOS16 has a new automatic verification function that can bypass CAPTCHA prompts and automatically and privately verify users' devices and Apple ID accounts through iCloud. The feature is designed to eliminate clicking traffic light images, etc. to prove that you are a real person, not a robot.
automatic verification is limited to websites and applications that support private access tokens, but because Cloudflare announced today it is offering a free API called Turstile to any website that wants to eliminate verification codes — even if the site is not a customer of Cloudflare, the adoption of the feature should be greatly boosted.
Cloudflare explains how the technology works in a blog post: "Private access tokens are built directly into Turnstile. While Turnstile must view some session data (such as headers, user agents, and browser features) to verify users, the private access token allows us to minimize data collection by requiring Apple to verify the device for us. In addition, Turnstile never looks for cookies (such as login cookies), or uses cookie to collect or store any type of information."
Starting today, Turnstile can be tested via the Cloudflare control panel or registration form. As websites begin to adopt Turnstile, the presence of annoying verification codes in various websites and applications will decrease over time.

Automatic verification is enabled by default on iPhone running iOS16. It can be found under Apple ID → Password and Security → Automatic Verification in the Settings app. Apple says iPadOS16.1 and macOS Ventura also support the feature, both systems are still in beta and will be released in October.
