Personal profile: Na Hongyu is currently the director of the technical service department of Huaneng New Energy Smart Operation and Maintenance Center.

once participated in the construction and operation and maintenance of Zhangbei Wind Farm, and was responsible for the network-related technical transformation of industry-level wind turbines and the independent maintenance of the first batch of wind farms of new energy companies. He later transferred to the new energy smart operation and maintenance center to engage in technical services.

The two choices I made in my career were both adventurous. One was when I was 29 years old, I "jumped" from a thermal power plant to a wind farm, which made me have an indissoluble bond with Huaneng Wind Power; Going to the New Energy Smart Operation and Maintenance Center allowed me to see the future of new energy development.

has been deeply engaged in wind power for more than 10 years. On the "highway" of new energy development, I have been running all the way, experiencing strong winds and showers, and lonely nights, always accompanying myself with the green dream.

10 years of hard work, challenges and growth. I have experienced the highlight moments when Huaneng New Energy's installed capacity exceeded one million and tens of millions. I also witnessed the gradual maturity and improvement of Huaneng New Energy's management system, technological innovation becoming increasingly faster and smarter, and talent training becoming more professional and comprehensive. , Huaneng embraces the high-quality development of new energy with practical actions. The "new energy era" belonging to Huaneng has arrived.

A wind power "pioneer" who became a monk

In 2008, a photo from the alumni group touched me: a classmate stood under a tall, white wind turbine, with the blue sky and mountains behind, a vast expanse of freedom. Unsatisfied with the status quo at the thermal power plant, I only had one idea: to try my luck at a wind farm.

I am lucky to have caught up with the rapid development of wind power in China in the past five years. With the support of policies and subsidies, the installed capacity of wind power increased significantly. The "Three Norths" region was the main battlefield for the development of domestic inland wind power at that time. The construction of Huaneng's first batch of domestically produced megawatt wind turbines was in full swing.

In 2009, I took advantage of this "wind" and rushed to the Zhangbei Wind Farm of the Liaoning Branch of the New Energy Company -

267 wind turbines with a single capacity of 1.5 MW and an installed capacity of 400,000 kilowatts, which was the size Huaneng was building at the time. Largest megawatt wind power project. You must know that at that time, the mainstream domestic capacity was 600 to 750 kilowatts. In contrast, my colleagues and I often laughed and said: "This is like a giant looking after children."

Standing on the shoulders of "giants", facing the wind turbines all over the mountains and plains, The path forward is not clear. On the one hand, facing the first batch of domestically produced megawatt wind turbines, there is no experience to follow in operation, maintenance and maintenance. The system software and hardware are in their infancy, and everything needs to be explored. On the other hand, wind power covers many majors and requires high comprehensive capabilities of operating personnel. The team of six people are both operators and maintenance personnel. They work 24 hours a day, take a day off, and then work for 5 days of maintenance. They also squeeze out time for self-study and improvement, and fall asleep almost every day after working hard.

In 2012, my third year in the industry, a freezing rain caused damage to the wind farm communication optical cable, causing serious large-scale wind turbine communication failures. That year was a critical year for Huaneng's first batch of megawatt wind turbines to come out of the warranty and transition stage of independent management. Emergency situations were not uncommon. As the team leader, I need to deal with it calmly at this time. I took two colleagues with me, carrying the optical fiber fusion splicer on my back, and took turns climbing up the transmission pole tower for emergency repairs. At a low temperature of minus 28 degrees Celsius, I struggled to weld optical cables on a 3-meter-high transmission tower. I was not allowed to wear gloves during the operation. The biting low temperature made my fingers numb. After each person spliced 1 or 2 pieces of optical fiber , his whole body was basically frozen. He waited in the car for a while before replacing others. Just replaced it back and forth, and it took 6 hours to eliminate the fault. At that time, it became my habit to record the experience of each maintenance in detail, which provided a reference for future generations to avoid detours.

From "artificial" to "intelligent"

Since 2011, Huaneng has accelerated the development of onshore wind power, adding more than 1.2 million kilowatts every year, and exceeded 10 million kilowatts in 2014. In 2019, Chairman Shu Yinbiao took the lead in proposing the implementation of the "two lines" and "two informatization" strategies around energy transformation and upgrading, and drew up a blueprint for Huaneng's new energy development. The annual construction start-up and grid-connected scale exceeded 10 million kilowatts.

It was also in this "green" year that I became the person in charge of the maintenance center of the new energy company. From northwestern Liaoning to southeastern Liaoning, there are 9 wind farms, more than 800 wind turbines, and a distance of more than 500 kilometers. My " special forces " and I have engraved the "competition for every hour of electricity" into our bones. No matter day or night, where do we need to go? Where to rush. Lumbar muscle strain is a common occupational disease among us. Once I climbed up to a 70-meter-high wind turbine carrying 74 pounds of equipment on my back. I rested several times along the way and could no longer straighten my back when I reached the top of the machine. We were all excited when we saw that the group company installed a crawler-free device for the wind farm. With this "artifact", carrying loads upward is no longer a "dreary task" and work efficiency has doubled. The wheels of the

era are rolling forward, and the development of the company has been turned upside down. At this time, I once again feel like a giant looking after a child. At that time, the system was not perfect and many tasks needed to be completed manually. We likened ourselves to artificial "intelligence" - although the wind turbines were highly intelligent, all other auxiliary work relied on "artificial intelligence". 10 years ago, 24-hour basic operation and maintenance required running upstairs and downstairs every two hours to record real-time data on a table. Nowadays, there are "little personnel on duty" or even "unattended", with one or two operation and maintenance personnel. It can monitor thousands of wind turbines across the province and automatically upload real-time data; 10 years ago, it took 5 or 6 days to troubleshoot and debug minor electronic component faults. Now the system automatically prompts and accurately locates the fault, and it can be repaired in 10 minutes. The drastic change from "artificial" to "intelligent" is a scene that we could never have imagined 10 years ago.

To this day, in the eyes of others, I am already an honorable and experienced wind power person, but I know that the momentum in my heart is still there, and I still yearn for a bigger stage.

New energy in one screen "Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains"

Once upon a time, I, an old maintenance man, somewhat "disdained" centralized control. In the past, the stations under my jurisdiction had few equipment, so I could supervise them all by myself. The centralized control function did not play its role in guiding grassroots work. However, during a business exchange with the Jilin branch, the provincial centralized control center of the branch realized powerful functions with fewer people, high efficiency, and intelligence, which completely changed my view of the "uselessness" of centralized control. At that time, a comrade from the centralized control center of the Jilin branch told me: "As the company develops and grows, it relies on manual labor when the scale is small in the early stage, and relies on digitalization for later development and growth." I realized that digitalization is the only way for the development of new energy.

Just when I was thinking about how to move closer to digitalization, in 2021, the group company’s New Energy Smart Operation and Maintenance Center opened the door for me. Under the guidance of the "dual carbon" goal, Huaneng accelerated the pace of informationization, intelligence, and digital transformation from to . The new energy smart operation and maintenance center came into being. I transferred from a professional maintenance position at the grassroots level to the group company's smart operation and maintenance center, transforming myself into The grassroots work experience is closely integrated with the development of new energy digitalization.

Counting on my fingers, it has been almost a year since I came to the Smart Operation and Maintenance Center. Whenever I stand in front of the big screen, I still feel from the bottom of my heart that it is so worth it! With so much data and comprehensive functions, it seems that many distant ideas can be quickly realized. In 2021, the group company operated a total of 432 wind power and photovoltaic power stations in 29 provincial-level administrative regions, involving 309 wind turbine models and 95 photovoltaic inverter models. The scale of new energy data assets has been huge. More than 10 million points. In the future that I can foresee, Huaneng's new energy installed capacity will also achieve orders of magnitude growth, and the new energy smart operation and maintenance system will play a greater role in fault warning, diagnosis and maintenance, cost reduction and efficiency improvement.

I used to work with the fan, now I stand behind it and "play" with the data. Now that I am surrounded by data, I believe that in the next ten years, I will be as wonderful as the smart new energy that leads to the future.
