Starting from 2018, Yiqi Research Institute launched the Digital China Miles Tour, continuing to pay attention to the innovation and iterative upgrade of the ultra-large-scale cloud data center itself, as well as in reducing carbon emissions and increasing energy consumption. Yiqi Research Institute conducted in-depth inspections of eight ultra-large-scale data centers through an "on-the-job" approach, and launched the country's first "Ultra-large-scale Cloud Data Center Investigation Report" in 2018.
In 2021, the Digital China Miles Tour, exclusively sponsored by Amou Technology, discovered during the inspection of Guizhou, Inner Mongolia Ulanqab, and Ringer that more and more cloud computing service providers began to apply multi-dimensional computing. As a result, more new players have appeared in the data center computing architecture. The Arm-based Alibaba Cloud Etian 710, AWS Graviton, Ampere's Altra, etc. have all achieved considerable development and application . Large amounts of data storage and offline data analysis have begun to move westward and northward. In addition to online games, e-commerce transactions, online payments and other businesses that require extremely high network latency, building data centers in the west can effectively reduce operating costs and alleviate problems in the east. The pressure has also driven industrial transformation and employment growth in the western region. After the conclusion of the 2021 Digital China Miles Tour, combined with inspections and surveys, Yiqi Research Institute officially launched the "2021 China Cloud Data Center Investigation Report" . The
report reflects that continuous optimization of data center energy usage efficiency (PUE), improving the effective utilization of computing power and infrastructure, allowing users to obtain greater computing power at a lower price, has become the direction of future data centers.
Under the trends of "double carbon" and "numbering in the east and counting in the west", cloud service providers continue to strengthen IT architecture innovation and iteration from the perspective of emission reduction optimization to improve overall energy utilization efficiency.
