A few days ago, a new report revealed details of the upcoming update of Microsoft's dual-screen smartphones, and the company will update its Surface Duo device with Android 12L, the operating system will introduce a redesigned UI similar to the design style of Windows 11. Today Windows Central has released the first real-machine running images for the upcoming Android 12L update for the first and second-generation Surface Duo.
It reveals the control and notification center that looks very much like Windows11 will blur the background and new buttons, as well as a set of icons that set the application from Microsoft operating system.
photos also show that custom Android 12L brings additional custom settings for Microsoft devices, such as color palettes and accent colors settings, plus a new feed section, which is also similar to the widget in Windows 11. The design style intent brought by the new
system is very clear, and Microsoft wants to make its Surface smartphone look as similar as Windows 11 to provide a seamless experience, and, initial observation, the company seems to have done a good job.
We don't know when Microsoft plans to push Android 12L. It simply says that the update will begin rolling out "later this year".
