Google Nest product line welcomes many new members, including Nest Doorbell (second generation cable version). is also launched today with Nest Wifi Pro and Nest Renew. The Nest Doorbell is a wired doorbell that can record 1 hour of surveillance footage when the Wi-Fi network is not in good condition.
users can play and replay up to 5 clips in 3 hours of video history for free. But if users need to get more footage recording, they need to purchase a Nest Aware Plus subscription.
Google claims that Nest Doorbell has improved the image quality of its recording events under various lighting and weather conditions. Nest Doorbell prevents fisheye distortion that is usually seen in security camera lenses and records in high dynamic range (HDR) to capture the most detailed information. Additionally, the company says the product has a smaller carbon footprint and is made of 43% recycled materials.
Nest Doorbell is available in four colors: Flax, Snow, Ivy, and Off-White (pictured above), starting at $179.99 in the U.S. and C$239.99 in Canada, although there are only Snow and Off-White in Canada.
