This morning, in an event themed on Google Search, Google announced that it will introduce a variety of ways to translate news content directly into Search search results. Take English users as an example, news results from Spanish publishers from other countries (such as Mexico ) will be translated into English after they searched since 2023.

In this blog post, Itama Snir, product manager at Google News and Lauren Clark, product manager at Google Search, said:
Assume you want to understand the impact of earthquakes above magnitude 7 earlier this month on the Mexican people. With this feature, you will be able to search and view translated titles for news results from Mexican publishers, as well as titles written in your preferred language. You will be able to read authoritative reports from journalists in the country to give you a unique perspective on what is going on there.
Based on its early translation efforts, the feature will translate titles and articles in French, German and Spanish into English for launch on mobile devices and desktops.
Google has tried news translation before, adding the ability to display content in both languages in Google News app sources three years ago. But in most cases, the search giant lets users translate content through Chrome's translation button and Google Translate and other tools. It is speculated that if Google's search news translation feature is well received, more language support will be introduced in the future.
