This article is the 9th issue of the Excel column chart series. It takes 1-3min.
column chart is a statistical chart with the length of a rectangle as a variable. It can be seen everywhere in daily work and is one of the most basic charts.
In Excel, a variety of filling methods are provided to make the chart no longer limited to rectangles:

Filling Method
From the figure below, it can be seen that Excel provides a variety of filling methods, including 8 filling methods, such as no filling, solid color filling, gradient filling, picture or texture filling, and pattern filling.
default state is solid color filling , and the high frequency filling methods are mainly gradient filling, picture or texture filling .
gradient fill
fill method Select "Gradial fill" and you can find that the graph has become a gradient column chart.
achieves different tones by modifying the angle (controlling the direction of the gradient, from top to bottom 90 degrees, from bottom to top 270 degrees, from left to right 0 degrees, from right to left 180 degrees, or other gradient angles), gradient aperture color and other parameters.
picture or texture fill
After checking "Picture or texture fill", we can select the external picture (file) or the picture on of the clipboard, or select the built-in texture pattern in Excel.
However, in daily work, we will use a simple and crude way to fill the picture, directly copy the picture, Ctrl+C, select the column chart that needs to be filled, and paste Ctrl+V. The pattern filled with
is filled in a stretched way by default, which is equivalent to filling the picture into the entire column chart. Since the column chart is rectangular, the picture will be stretched to a very long time, the picture will be distorted and the display effect will not be achieved.
Here you can choose the filling method of the latter two, stack or stack and scale.
stacking is used to fill the column chart in the form of stacking based on the size of the current picture.
stacking and scaling means scaling the picture based on the stacking. The scaling size can be set through the Units/Picture parameter.
The obvious difference between the two can be seen from the figure below. Where can I find the pattern filled with
?
Here we recommend an address, Alibaba vector library, which has a large number of materials to choose from, covering a wide range of areas, and can be searched for basic patterns. For example, if you search for "Chiji" in it, you will provide hundreds of patterns to choose from.
In addition to looking for materials online, Excel 2019 version has a built-in pattern library, as shown in the figure below:
