"We are proud and excited to see the rapid growth of the SmartThings Find service," said TM Roh, president and head of Samsung Electronics' mobile experience business. "In less than two years, 200 million devices has been chosen to help other Samsung Galaxy users find their misplaced devices – making it one of Samsung’s fastest growing services. ”

However, unlike last year’s announcement, the new announcement does not show up. Check out any new improvements to Samsung’s offline locator for lost items. When the company announced its 100 million milestone last year, the service also announced a feature called SmartThings Find Members, which allows users to crowdsource searches for missing devices.

SmartThings Find uses Bluetooth Low Energy and Ultra Wideband technology to locate a lost device even if it's not within range of the finder's phone. Additionally, other nearby registered Galaxy users will be able to find their lost Samsung Galaxy S22 or Galaxy Buds Pro.

But these aren't the only items the service can find. Samsung's answer to the best bluetooth trackers also works on tablets and watches. Additionally, users can use it to find lost items such as keys or wallets with Galaxy SmartTag or SmartTag+ devices.

"Losing your device can be stressful, but SmartThings Find makes it easier to quickly find and retrieve your device," Roh added. "This is just one example of how a connected ecosystem of devices can create meaningful experiences for Samsung Galaxy users around the world."
