Afa also recognized the old peddler. The old peddler is quite brave. He knows that he has encountered a ghost, but he is not afraid. When he asks the ghost, he asks the ghost where he will go. The ghost said, "I am now an underworld official, and I go to Nancun to catch the soul."
The old peddler also happens to go to Nancun, and humans and ghosts are walking together. When he reached a thatched hut, the ghost suddenly said to the old scholar, "Go away and don't disturb others."
The old scholar asked, "Why should I let my pace lightly?"
The ghost said, "This is the literati's house, and you can't go."
The old scholar said, "Hey, it's strange, how do you know that the scholars live in this thatched hut are living in the hut?"
The ghost said, "Overall people are busy with their heads and are in a daze. At night, they don't think about anything and fall into bed to sleep. At this time, every word in the heart of those who read books shines out from their orifices. The average person who reads books is also as bright as a lamp, illuminating the window of the door. The light on this thatched hut is seven or eight feet high, so this place is defined as a residence for literati."
Reading makes people shine? As he was talking, the old scholar was curious and pointed at himself and asked the ghost: "Look at how much light I shine when I was asleep?"
ghost said: "Look at your high-headed sermon, 500 ink volumes, 30 to 40 strategies, 78 to verses, every word turned into black smoke, covering the house, but there was no light."
