When my mother saw that I hadn’t come home for a long time, she looked for me everywhere. Shagangzi is a small village. To the west of the village is a large river pool, which is also the brigade's fish pond. This fish pond is extremely deep. It is said that the crater was created by the Japanese bombs dropped from the plane. It's autumn, and the lotus flowers in the pond are really beautiful. To the west of the river bank is a cantaloupe field. In autumn, a group of children like us would swim there and steal the cantaloupes to eat. To the east of the village is a golden rice field. To the south of the village is a green dry field. To the north of the village is a hill-like Dashagang, and below it is a poplar forest. Five miles north of Dashagangzi is Pantianbuzi Commune. The small village has Dashagangzi, hence its name.
My mother was looking for me everywhere that day. She was wearing a white blouse with small purple flowers and blue trousers. She first went to the fish pond to look for me, but there was no child.
