Once, I was going to Gushe Mountain to visit incognito. When I came to the Fairy Cave, I saw a graceful young woman dancing gracefully on the lawn beside the forest in the distance, with a deer following her.
Emperor Yao thought that the woman must be the deer fairy, so he quickly stepped forward and bowed to salute. Unexpectedly, the Deer Fairy immediately pulled away and hid behind a pine tree, combing her hair with a wooden comb shyly.
Di Yao leaned further, and the Deer Fairy stuck the wooden comb in her hand to the pine tree, then turned to the back of another pine tree and laughed. At this time, Emperor Yao knew the intention of the Deer Fairy, so he laughed and started running after me. Unknowingly, the two of them came to a secluded valley. Suddenly, a giant python sprang out of the valley, spitting out a red letter, looking at it with wild eyes, and rushed towards Emperor Yao with its head raised.
Di Yao backed away in panic, and within a few steps he tripped over the grass on the ground. At this critical moment, the Deer Fairy stepped forward and protected Di Yao with a single step. With a finger, the giant python was so frightened that it trembled all over and fell to the ground. Then, under the Deer Fairy's instructions, it retreated deep into the valley.
After coming back to his senses, Emperor Yao kept thanking the Deer Fairy for saving his life. Immediately afterwards, the two returned to the fairy cave together. On the way, they confided in each other and fell in love with each other.
That night, Emperor Yao stayed in the fairy cave for the night. The next day, the Deer Fairy took Emperor Yao on various sightseeing tours. As the relationship deepened, the two entered into an engagement contract and chose an auspicious date to get married.
They regarded the fairy cave as their new house, and used a large number of candles to illuminate the fairy cave as brightly as day. Therefore, people in later generations used to call the wedding night "the night of flowers and candles in the bridal chamber"!
In the second year after the two got married, the Deer Fairy successfully gave birth to a boy named "Zhu".
Later, when the Emperor of Heaven found out about the marriage between the Deer Fairy and Emperor Yao, he was very angry because it obviously violated the iron law that gods cannot marry mortals. Under the pressure of the Emperor of Heaven, the Deer Fairy had no choice but to cut off her relationship with Emperor Yao, and after giving her son to Emperor Yao to raise, she lived in seclusion in the mountains and never appeared again. No matter how much Emperor Yao sent people to search everywhere, there was no trace of the Deer Fairy.
The son born to the Deer Fairy was later entrusted to Dandi by Emperor Yao, so people also habitually called him Danzhu.
