Last night at 9:30, I went downstairs to throw away the garbage. When I walked out of the elevator, my neighbor's son was standing at the elevator entrance.
"Auntie", the neighbor's son greeted me.
I looked at the tall, handsome, and even somewhat obese young man, and replied gently: Hey - you are back!
The young man looked cheerful and answered: Yes! You throw out the trash, I'll wait for you.
I was not polite and said: OK, just wait for me!
was rude because I got along very well with the young man’s mother and often visited each other, so I didn’t treat the young man as an outsider.
The elevator is a few steps away from the unit door. The trash can is right at the door of the unit. I quickly returned to the elevator.
The young man's back was turned to me when he pressed the floor button. I looked at his tall body and saw that he was no longer a child. After all, he had graduated from college (junior college) and was already twenty-two years old, although he had not yet joined the workforce.
The elevator started, and the young man and I stood face to face. I listened to his rapid breathing and asked: Have you gone out for a run?
The young man answered truthfully: No, I went to drink.
Me: Have you learned to drink?
Youth: Yeah!
Me: How much can you drink?
Youth: I can’t drink much, six or seven bottles at most.
While we were talking, the floor where my home was located arrived, and the young man said goodbye to me: Auntie, please go home!
Me: OK, go up!
The floor of the young man's home is higher than the floor of my home. I walked out of the elevator and heard the sound of the elevator door closing when I turned right.
Remembering the young man who said he could drink up to six or seven bottles of beer, I said to myself as I opened the door: What a drinker!
Ordinarily, drinking six or seven bottles is not considered a good drinker, but for a young man who has just graduated from college and is about to enter the society, it is really a good drinker.
No wonder I felt that the young man was a little unsteady on his feet in the elevator. He must have drank a lot, right?
People who drink well can get drunk even if they drink too much.
When my family moved, this young man was only in the third grade of junior high school. At that time, he was still a child in my eyes. In just eight years, he became a slightly obese young man!
For a moment, I once again lamented that time flies by so fast!
This night, I thought about how much alcohol the young man had, and I slept a lot less.
When our children were young, we thought they were eating junk snacks and drinking drinks, and hoped that they would grow up quickly. But don’t we know that the older our children get, the more troubles they have. Drinking as a child, drinking as an adult. Drinking too much is not good, and drinking too much alcohol is harmful to your health.
The young man and I only knew each other because of his mother. After seeing the young man’s drunken state and hearing how much he drank, my sleep became much lighter. As a mother of a young man, will you stay up all night worrying that he drinks too much? This is the first question I think about after dawn.
