Foster + Partners, commented: "It's great to see the stadium almost full of spectators for the first time. Our goal is to create a compelling and simple form that reflects the functions of the building, responds to the climate of Qatar and enhances the theatre of the event.

" Arrival experience is intuitive and immersive. The audience enters the boat between the two-story seats, which are deliberately compressed to enhance the drama, as they appear in spacious seat bowls filled with natural light.

The design of Foster and partners’ Lusar Stadium is provided through an in-depth analysis of the briefing and an appreciation of Qatar’s climate and cultural heritage. Referring to the vernacular architecture of the region and the country’s ancient craft traditions, the shape of the “seat bowl” hints at “polished gold containers that shine in the sun.” The triangular opening on the facade is a visual reinforcement of the oblique ribs of the bowl structure, forming a perforated screen that provides shade and filters light to the interior hall.

With its high-performance facade and innovative roof design, the project successfully reduces the energy consumption of the building. In order to maximize the comfort of the open-air stadium, Architect uses outdoor cooling technology. Otherworldly design

To bring an immersive atmosphere to players and audiences, Foster and his partners strengthened the relationship between the Lusal Stadium and the seat bowl. Visitors are invited to enter the stadium through the wide and warm podium. Once inside, the bowl is like an enclosed "container", coming to life in competitions and events. The stadium has formed the largest stadium in the region, capable of hosting spectacular international events.

The top of the building has a "spoke wheel" cable net roof. With a diameter of 307 meters (1,007 feet), it has become one of the largest stretch cable net roofs in the stadium, bringing both environmental comfort and unifying the entire bowl under one envelope. The external compression ring of the roof is connected to the central tension ring with a complex cable system. The team noted, “This approach creates a wide roof without the need for support columns. The design team adopted a soft sand palette that stretches from the complex facade to the colors of the seats. These neutral tones form a quiet contrast with the vitality of the audience wearing the team’s colors. The architects explained, “The new Lusar Stadium is playful and geometrically elegant in scale and will become a lasting symbol of the post-World Cup™ heritage of Qatar.” The sheer and simplicity of the stadium form make it an iconic addition to the city’s skyline.
