In 1975, 15-year-old Ann Iverson was selected for the church high school women’s basketball team, but was selected during the routine medical examination. She was accidentally informed that she was pregnant, and on June 7th, Ann Iverson gave birth to Alan Ezer Iverson. Soon after Iverson’s birth, Ann took him back to Hartford to meet his father, but she found that Bruton’s violence and drugs everywhere were not conducive to the growth of Iverson. Because of Iverson's reputation for imprisonment, he didn't have much space when he graduated from high school and chose a university, and many prestigious schools did not consider him. Iverson’s mother Anne took the initiative to find Georgetown University coach John Thompson hoped that he could give Iverson a chance, John Thompson promised her to let Iverson join the Georgetown University basketball team.
