Live Bar, December 30th, Sarsfield Club President Diego Gonzalez revealed that Uruguay veteran Godin will decide whether to retire within this week.
The 36-year-old Godin is a Uruguayan defender. He has played in European teams such as Villarreal, Atletico Madrid, and Inter Milan. He currently plays for the Argentine club Sarsfield. Diego Gonzalez, president of Sarsfield Club, said: "Godin told me that he will give me an answer within this week. He is considering whether to retire and say goodbye to football." Godin represented the Uruguay national team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Uruguay had 1 win, 1 draw, 1 loss and 4 points, finishing third in the group and failing to qualify. After Uruguay's group match against Ghana, many Uruguay players, including Godin, were dissatisfied with the referee and even had physical conflicts with the referee. FIFA has investigated the matter afterwards. Godin and other players may face long-term bans, but Godin previously said: "I do not regret the things I did."
