Qizi Mountain was called Qishan in ancient times, also known as Qiziling and Mouqiling. It is located about 15 kilometers east of Lingchuan County, Jincheng City in the south of Taihang Mountain. In August 2007, the Pre-Qin History Society confirmed on the basis of serious research that Qizi Mountain in Lingchuan County, Jincheng City is an important birthplace of the Go culture.

Legend has it that King Zhou Wu visited Jizi once, and the Jizi Cave on Qizi Mountain is the chess room where Jizi played in those days. The hole is about 10 meters deep and 4 meters high. Nowadays, there is a trace on the rock in the cave that resembles the lines of a Go chess board, and there are dents printed like Go chess pieces. The legend is that the unfinished chess game left by Jizi back then, despite the vicissitudes of the years, the lines are still clear. Black and white are distinct. On August 7, 2007, the five-day "First China·Jincheng Qizishan International Go Cultural Festival" was grandly opened in Qizishan.
