Phoenix Suns restricted free agent center Deandre Ayton is signing a four-year, maximum $133 million contract with the Indiana Pacers, his agent Bill Duffy and Nick Ma Namachian told ESPN on Thursday.

The Suns have two days to meet the biggest offer in NBA history and keep Ayton or let him go to the Pacers for nothing in return.

Ayton's offer exceeds the four-year, $107 million deal Otto Porter Jr. signed with the Brooklyn Nets in 2017, which was the deal the Washington Wizards ultimately reached. .

Once Ayton signed the offer sheet with Indiana , the deal was no longer allowed to be signed and traded.

So far, the Suns have not shown interest in a sign-and-trade deal with the Pacers, but sources told ESPN that once Ayton signs, Phoenix's offer will reach a record $133 million.

If the Suns meet the offer, they cannot trade Ayton until at least January 15th, and they cannot trade him to Indiana for a year. Ayton will also have veto power on any trade for one year.

Deandre Ayton averaged 17.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game for the Suns in the past season, shooting 63.4% from the field and 74.6% from the free throw line.

Ayton, who turns 24 next week, was selected with the first overall pick in the 2018 draft out of Arizona , part of a star-studded draft class that also included Luka Doncic (third overall pick) , Jaren Jackson Jr. (4th), Trae Young (5th) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (11th).

After being selected to the All-Rookie first team in 2019, Ayton has developed into a quality starting center, averaging 16.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per game while helping the Phoenix defense during the 2021 NBA Finals, This is the first time the Suns have reached the conference championship game since Charles Barkleyled the Suns in 1993.
