The starting point of the first torch relay is at Yongning Gate of Xi’an City Wall and the ending point is at the North Square of Xi’an Railway Station. The total distance is about 5.3 kilometers. After starting from Yongningmen , the torch relay route is: Yongningmen Square-South Street-North Street-Ziqiang East Road-Daming Palace Danfengmen Square.
The 100 torchbearers who participated in the first leg of the relay are advanced representatives of various industries in Xi’an, including medical staff, representatives of poverty alleviation and other grassroots workers, embodying the theme of "all people moving forward together" .
