Flexible wearable biological electronic device has a wide range of application prospects in the fields of personal health management, drug delivery, exercise monitoring and electronic skin . Recently, Professor Zhou Ming's team from Northeast Normal University's School of Chemistry has made a series of progress in the field of flexible wearable bioelectronic devices.
team adopted a unique "close to the skin" strategy, and took the lead in proposing the concept of "flexible biofuel cell in centrifuge tubes (named iezTube)", which solved the problem that the sweat biofuel cell that was "wearing on the skin" in the past was difficult to directly generate stable electrical energy in the wearable environment (Figure 1).

This result is published in the internationally renowned academic journal Advanced Functional Materials, under the title "Flexible Biofuel Cell-In-A-Tube (iezTube): An Entirely Self-Contained Biofuel Cell for Wearable Green Bio-energy Harvesting". Zhou Ming is the corresponding author of , and doctoral student Wang Jingjuan is the first author. Using a unique multi-factor correction strategy, the
team designed the dual-function fully integrated wearable sweat and wound exudate sensor for the first time, overcoming the engineering challenge of wearable, dynamic and accurate monitoring of two epidermal non-invasive body fluids with a fully integrated wearable sensor (Figure 2).

This result is published in the internationally renowned academic journal "Small" under the title "A Bifunctional Fully Integrated Wearable Tracker for Epidermal Sweat and Wound Exudate Multiple Biomarkers Monitoring". Associate Professor Zhou Ming and Bo Xiangjie are the corresponding authors, and master's student Pei Xinyi is the first author.
Zhou Ming is a professor at the School of Chemistry, doctoral supervisor, director of the Analytical and Testing Center, and director of the Key Laboratory of Nanobiosensing Analysis of Jilin Province. In 2015, he was selected into the National Overseas High-Level Youth Talent Introduction Plan and won the Jilin Provincial Youth Science and Technology Award in 2018. Starting from January 2022, Zhou Ming was invited to serve as the deputy editor-in-chief of "Electroanalysis" under Wiley Publishing House (Figure 3).

Zhou Ming's team has been committed to the design, construction and development of flexible wearable bioelectronic devices. In recent years, he has published a series of work in the field of flexible wearable bioelectronic devices (Nano Energy, 2021, 86: 106061; ACS Sensors, 2021, 6(1): 275–284; Analytical Chemistry, 2022, 94(3): 1890-1900; ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2022, 14(7): 8664–8668). The research has been funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Ministry of Science and Technology and the basic research business expenses of central universities.
