Recently, experts and monitoring personnel from the China Environmental Monitoring Station and the Ecological Environment Monitoring and Scientific Research Center of the Yangtze River Basin Ecological Environment Supervision and Administration Bureau (hereinafter referred to as the Ecological Environment Monitoring and Research Center of the Yangtze River Bureau) went to Jiujiang to carry out on-site monitoring of the water ecological survey of the Jiujiang section of the Yangtze River basin in accordance with the requirements of the "2022 Key Basin Water Ecological Condition Investigation and Monitoring Plan" of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and went to Jiujiang to carry out on-site monitoring of the water ecological survey of the Jiujiang section of the Yangtze River basin. Jiangxi Provincial Ecological Environment Monitoring Center and Jiujiang Yongxiu Ecological Environment Bureau actively assisted and completed the task successfully.

Main Station and the Yangtze River Bureau Ecological Environment Monitoring and Scientific Research Center have overcome difficulties such as high temperature drought, inconvenience in access roads, and heavy handling of monitoring equipment. According to the list of water ecological monitoring points in the Yangtze River Basin (Jiangxi Section), large-scale benthic animals , phytoplankton , phytoplankton and zooplankton indicators, water quality physical and chemical indicators such as chlorophyll a and soluble silica, as well as indicators such as microplastics and environmental DNA were inspected on site, and physical habitat indicators were investigated. The number and density of benthic animals indirectly reflect the quality of water and represent the local ecological environment. This water ecological monitoring survey is a background survey. Through the collected samples, the number of species in the river is roughly estimated, and the relevant data will be used as an important indicator for river basin ecological evaluation.

The successful completion of this water ecological survey and monitoring work has a positive effect on fully grasping the distribution characteristics of aquatic organisms and changes in the community structure of the Yangtze River Basin (Yongxiu Section, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province) and evaluating its water ecological status. In addition, it has also trained the water ecological survey and monitoring capabilities of professional and technical personnel in Jiangxi Province, broadened their work horizons, and laid the foundation for Jiangxi Province to carry out the water ecological monitoring work in the subsequent comprehensive river basin and promote the business operation of water ecological monitoring.
