html The end of 3 years is approaching, and we pay tribute to Dongsui. Time flies so fast, and 2022 is about to come to an end. While welcoming the New Year, Mutual Aid would also like to congratulate you for successfully passing through an extraordinary year of fighting cancer!

In this year, we have all experienced a lot, either ups and downs or smooth, and we have also witnessed many major and minor changes in the field of ovarian cancer, such as updates to authoritative guidelines, breakthroughs in clinical research, etc., which have brought new hope to the majority of cancer seekers. Today, in the name of the last day of 2022, Huzhujun has taken stock of this year's "big stories about ovarian cancer" for everyone. Let's take a look.

01, three major guideline updates

In early January 2022, "China Maintenance Treatment Guidelines for Ovarian Epithelial Cancer" was updated, which mainly includes six parts: Summary of maintenance treatment with niraparib for new patients with platinum-sensitive recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer Survival data, new maintenance treatment drugs for patients with platinum-sensitive recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer, new clinical research data on olaparib in Asian populations, new data on the reuse of PARP inhibitors, new data on the combined use of PARP inhibitors + other drugs after PARP inhibitor resistance, and updated treatment options for the side effects of PARP inhibitors.

Subsequently, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) also released the 2022 version of the NCCN Guidelines . This update made some adjustments to gene testing , initial treatment plan, platinum-sensitive treatment plan, intraperitoneal hyperthermic perfusion chemotherapy, secondary debulking surgery for recurrent patients, and treatment plans for different types of ovarian cancer.

As one of the few well-known and authoritative medical science and technology academic groups in my country, the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO) has also released the latest version of "CSCO Ovarian Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines (2022 Edition)" . The updated parts mainly cover the management of adverse reactions of PARP inhibitors, diagnosis and treatment of ovarian malignant germ cell tumors, and diagnosis and treatment of ovarian sex cord stromal tumors .

For ovarian cancer patients, these three guidelines are like beacons on the road to fighting cancer. They can help us standardize treatment, understand ovarian cancer more clearly and comprehensively, prolong survival and improve quality of life as much as possible. Although there is not much content in this adjustment, every optimization and update makes the ovarian cancer treatment system more perfect. I believe that there will be a more comprehensive plan in the future to bring good news to the majority of ovarian cancer patients!

02, niraparib opens a "new" pattern for the entire frontline population

html In March, we ushered in the American Gynecological Oncology Annual Meeting (SGO), which has attracted much attention from gynecological oncology clinical scholars. This annual meeting released three relevant New progress regarding niraparib:

Firstly, the PRIME study obtained positive results, confirming that the use of niraparib as first-line maintenance therapy has significant benefits for patients with newly diagnosed advanced ovarian cancer, whether they have BRCA mutations or no mutations. This result adds further support for the first-line maintenance treatment of PARP inhibitors, and also fills the data gap in its first-line maintenance treatment for newly diagnosed advanced ovarian cancer in China, opening up a new first-line treatment path for patients.

Not only that, niraparib has also brought a new dawn to patients with platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. The ANNIE Study shows that for platinum-resistant patients who lack effective treatments, the combination of niraparib and anlotinib can be of great benefit. In terms of neoadjuvant treatment of ovarian cancer, the NANT study has made a new attempt. Judging from the current data, neoadjuvant treatment with niraparib alone is also effective and safe.

It can be seen that the possibility of PARP inhibitors in the treatment of ovarian cancer is being "explored" by more and more people. We look forward to future research data that can bring us more surprises.

03 and two major white papers were released one after another

On April 15, the "2022 China Ovarian Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Current Status White Paper" conference was held grandly. This white paper shows us the real-world doctor-patient cognitive gap and doctor-patient needs. It also reflects the current status of ovarian cancer diagnosis and treatment in my country. It aims to guide clinical practice, improve doctors' diagnosis and treatment level, and popularize ovarian cancer diagnosis and treatment knowledge to patients, bringing better clinical benefits to the majority of patients.

On the occasion of the 10th World Ovarian Cancer Day (May 8), "2022 White Paper on the Quality of Life of Chinese Ovarian Cancer Patients" was officially released. Under the guidance of the China Anti-Cancer Association , Meijian and Physician Newspaper conducted a detailed survey on ovarian cancer patients in four aspects, including basic information, diagnosis and treatment status, comprehensive management, burden and needs. They summarized, analyzed and compiled a white paper to show the public the real living status of ovarian cancer patients and call for joint attention from all walks of life to help ovarian cancer patients return to a better life and improve their quality of life!

04, 7-year follow-up data of olaparib released, new indication approved

At this year’s European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) annual meeting, the olaparib SOLO-1 study announced 7-year follow-up data and found that after 7 years of follow-up, the overall survival of patients in the olaparib maintenance treatment group has not been reached, with a survival rate of 67% and a 45% reduction in the risk of death. This shows that the benefits of giving patients 2 years of olaparib maintenance treatment still continue 7 years after the completion of treatment. The patients' survival period has been extended and the risk of death has been greatly reduced.

As the study with the longest follow-up period among PARP inhibitors to date, it is another milestone in the field of ovarian cancer treatment. also gives patients with BRCAm advanced ovarian cancer the hope of clinical cure .

Then came the good news released by the official website of the National Medical Products Administration on September 19: Lynparza's new indication was approved - Lynparza combined with bevacizumab can be used as a first-line double-drug maintenance treatment for ovarian cancer, for patients with newly diagnosed advanced ovarian cancer who have achieved partial or complete remission after receiving platinum-based chemotherapy. It is worth noting that this is the fourth domestically approved indication for Lynparza. Presumably, such a "strong alliance" combination medication model will definitely bring the possibility of long survival to more ovarian cancer patients.

05, "Operation Warming Nest" sets sail again!

2022 is the fifth year that the "Warming Nest Action" public welfare activity has worked hand in hand with ovarian cancer patients. In these five years, "Warming Nest Action" has organized and carried out online and offline ovarian cancer patient care activities, provided thousands of patients with face-to-face communication opportunities with gynecological cancer experts, and brought hundreds of warm and professional patient education lectures to many cities, just to do its best to help patients overcome difficulties and regain hope.

This year, Meijian will continue to join hands with the China Women's Development Fund to send warmth, and the "Warming Nest Operation" will set sail again! From November 2022 to February 2023, the "Warming Nest Operation" will conduct 100 combined offline and online patient education activities in major hospitals to popularize professional ovarian cancer disease knowledge for the majority of ovarian cancer patients and help seekers return to a better life.

END

After reading this, you will find that there is a lot of good news about ovarian cancer this year! I believe that in the next year, the lives of ovarian cancer patients will definitely get better and better ~ Pay attention to the ovarian cancer care circle, next year we will continue to help you unlock more ovarian cancer knowledge and new information, and work together towards recovery!

Finally, I hope that our 2023 will be interesting, promising, and free of disasters and difficulties.
