PetroChina Tarim Oilfield Company announced on the 226th that the company's oil and gas production of my country's largest ultra-deep oil field, Fuman Oilfield, located in the hinterland of the Taklimakan Desert, exceeded the 3 million tons mark, reaching 3.0905 million tons.

According to reports, the Fuman Oilfield is the largest ultra-deep sea fault-controlled fracture-cavity carbonate reservoir discovered in my country, with oil and gas resources exceeding 1 billion tons. The oil field is located in the Taklimakan Desert, known as the "Sea of Death." The oil reservoirs are generally buried at ultra-deep depths of 7,500 to 10,000 meters. It has the world's rare characteristics of ultra-deep, ultra-high temperature, and ultra-high pressure.
In recent years, Tarim Oilfield has faced world-class exploration and development problems. Scientific researchers have deepened innovation in geological theory, strengthened engineering technology research, and broke through the limits of ultra-deep exploration and development. Nine thousand-ton wells were drilled in ultra-deep layers, with a success rate of development wells of 100%. At the same time, the Tarim Oilfield has transformed its development and production model and promoted the integration of exploration, evaluation, and development, helping the crude oil production of the Fuman Oilfield to rise rapidly for three consecutive years at a growth rate of more than 500,000 tons. Especially this year, the increase in crude oil production accounted for 60% of the total increase in crude oil production in the Tarim Oilfield, providing a new way for efficient exploration and profitable development of my country's ultra-deep oil fields.

According to the plan, by 2025, the Fuman Oilfield will be built into a large oilfield with an annual oil and gas output of 5 million tons.
At present, the Tarim Oilfield has completed the feasibility analysis of drilling 10,000-meter deep underground wells . The high-temperature and high-pressure drilling technology reserves for ultra-deep wells have also made phased progress. Three 10,000-meter ultra-deep wells are getting ready to go deeper underground.
