Pay tribute to those who are like Wang Dashi. In the early morning, my niece sent me a few old photos. I was also wearing a big cotton jacket that my father took off because he was hot, and dragged it to his heel.

Salute to those people like Wang Dashi

Huang Yulan

In the morning, my niece sent me a few old photos. The old photos show a busy labor scene, where my parents, her grandfather and grandma were there; and I was wearing a big cotton jacket that my father took off because he was hot, and dragged it to his heels.

That should be what I look like when I was 5 or 6 years old. My father seemed to have told me that he took it while digging the river in the city. The construction of water conservancy was something I often did more than 40 years ago. Although winter is slack farming, it is the best time to prepare for spring plowing, summer hoeing and autumn harvest. There is not much machinery, most of them rely on manual labor. It is easy to see in the photo of

there are three echelons. "Cadres take the lead and don't worry about anything." My father was the secretary of the Xudong Brigade in Shucheng Town at that time, so he must have taken the heaviest work. He was standing at the bottom of the river. The people on this floor worked the most. They not only had to dig silt and clear waterways, but also had to raise and turn the dig up to the clay-turning people standing in the second echelon.

People on the second level will continue to lift the soil to the third level, which is to level the people on the river bank. My mother was on the third floor, responsible for leveling the mud that was turned up. It seemed relaxing, but there were few people there, and there were only one person around her who was leveling the entire embankment with her. The mud with water is heavy and sticky, let alone digging, lifting, or turning over, if I step in, I can't get out.

In front of my father was a square pond with neat edges, it can be seen that his progress was faster than the people next to him. The depth of the first layer where he is located is beyond his shoulders; the second layer is almost one person tall, and the river is already two or three people deep before it becomes the shape of "three lights and one level".

My father was wearing glasses and looked like a scholar. How could he do such a heavy job? But in the photo, he threw off his jacket and looked happy. Not only my father, there are about 20 people in the photo digging, shoveling, and lifting mud. There is no conversation, nor anyone looking around, except for me, like a fat scarecrow, standing blankly in a depressed place beside my mother. The most conspicuous thing in the photo is the shovel, telling me the moment of time and space that was once divided by busyness.

Niece asked me why I remembered this? I told her: It was caused by an activity organized by the unit recently. We visited and learned from our county’s “Original Aspiration and Mission” Education Hall. In addition to displaying the deeds of the older generation of revolutionary martyrs such as Liu Ruilong, Xu Tongfu, Wu Kusheng, and Lu Jiying, the museum also allows us to understand the past history of Shuyang through mass group construction, military construction, economic construction, and regime construction, and also show the development and changes of Shuyang's social and economic development.

There is a picture in the Zhengyi Dashu Project (1949-1952) section, introducing the deeds of "Wang Dashi". His original name is Wang Zhaoshan , and he is from Zhangji Commune. It is named because of "two shovels and one basket of soil, three shovels to fill the car". He was named a special hero. Senior Wang, wearing a white shirt in the photo, was lifting the mud with a big shovel. It was this action and the scene at that time that made me feel familiar. I remembered that my father had done it before, so I asked my niece to go back to find it. It's indeed similar!

Senior Wang passed away in 1976, and my father left us in 2016. Senior Wang was received by Soong Ching Ling and Chairman Mao, and my father was unknown all his life.

I understand that the people exhibited in the museum are only a small number of people, leaving traces because the positions or information can be found. Among the people who have contributed to Shuyang's 70 years of construction, there are more ordinary party members and masses like my father. They obey the party's command and respond to the party's call. They go wherever the party calls, do whatever the party calls, perform their duties, and actively contribute their own light and heat.

It is their shovel that cleared the river and promoted agricultural development; some of them fought in all walks of life on Shuyang, promoting the development of industry and commerce. It is these unknown people who have used their flesh and blood to accumulate every glory and every beauty in Shuyang today!

Thinking of my father, thinking of these people like Wang Daqiu, my heart couldn't calm down for a long time. Without a father, there would be no me. Without a father and someone like Wang Daqiu, there would be no Shuyang today. Whether people remember them or not, Shuyang will never forget them in every inch of land and water. Shuyang, the increasingly rising city, is their monument!

Looking at the bright sunshine today, I am extremely proud and relieved: my father passed on his original intention for the party to me, so that I will always forget my mission in the new era, and strive to do what a party member should do, "Based on his job, work hard, and continue to write another new story in Shuyang's development career along the footsteps of his predecessors...
