Liu Sheng is a well-known general in the early stage of the Ming Dynasty . He was born in Huaining . He became a guardian household in Yanshan by inheriting his father's position. Later, he followed the King of Yan Zhu Di to fight south and north, and was gradually promoted to the Assistant General of the Left Army for his military achievements.
When Yongle, Zhu Di was preparing to use a large-scale military force against Annan , and sent 18 generals including Zhuneng , Zhang Fu, Mu Sheng , Li Bin , Liu Sheng and other 18 generals, and led hundreds of thousands of troops to conquer Annan. In this battle, Liu Sheng fought the most outstanding battle, which belongs to Fuliangjiang Battle . At that time, the enemy gathered a large number of warships in the waters of Fuliang River and , covering the river and setting up camp, which was impressive. At the same time, tens of thousands of troops were assisting.
On the Ming army, Zhang Fu led the infantry and cavalry armies, and Liu Sheng led the navy to attack together, successfully defeated them, captured Ruan Xizhou, a pseudo-speaker of the enemy, and later defeated the enemy in the Qiluohaikou area and successfully seized 300 warships from the enemy.
After several consecutive hard battles, the Ming army finally won the victory, captured the enemy leader Hu Jiying and his son, and escorted him to Nanjing. After this battle, Liu Sheng was named An Yuanbo, with an annual salary of 1,000 stones and a coupon. In the seventh year of Yongle, Liu Sheng and Chen Xuan took the navy to patrol the seaside together, and arrived at the waters in Qingzhou, successfully fought against the Japanese pirates and defeated them. A year later, he followed Zhu Di to participate in the first Northern Expedition to Mongolia, and was responsible for leading the Shenji Firearm Battalion as the vanguard and defeating the enemy leader Arutai . After the war, An Yuanbo was promoted to An Yuanhou for his merits, and his annual salary was increased by 500 stones.
After returning from the Northern Expedition, Liu Sheng was appointed to guard the Ningxia area, and successfully killed the rebel general Feng Dalan Timur and others. Later, he was recalled back to the capital by Zhu Di and was responsible for going to the general manager of the Beijing camp.
In the twelfth year of Yongle, Liu Sheng followed Zhu Di to participate in the Second Northern Expedition to Mongolia. Under his command, the firearm battalion still exerted great power, giving the Mongolian cavalry a huge lethality, and defeating the enemy in the battle of Hulan and Hushuwen.
In the 18th year of Yongle, the vigorous peasant uprising of Tang Saier broke out, conquering cities and territory all the way, causing a great sensation to the Ming court. At that time, the court called Tang Saier the Putai witch. Not long after, Zhu Di, who was very angry, ordered Liu Shenghe to direct Liu Zhong to directly transfer the elite Beijing army to encircle and suppress it.
Liu Sheng thought he was a general who had experienced many battles, and the other party was just a woman, so he looked down on the enemy. Tang Saier also took full advantage of the opponent's characteristics of underestimating the enemy and deliberately sent people to pretend to surrender. Liu Sheng believed it deeply and did not take much precautions. As a result, he was attacked by Tang Saier's army at night, which damaged many people.
After this battle, Liu Sheng became serious and ordered the pursuit and successfully captured more than a hundred gangsters. In the end, Tang Saier's main force was defeated by his command Wei Qing . Liu Sheng was therefore afraid of Wei Qing's contribution, humiliated him and was released soon afterwards.
In the 20th year of Yongle, Zhu Di launched the third Northern Expedition to Mongolia. Liu Sheng continued to follow and successfully led the central army to defeat the army of Urianha in the Qulier River area. During Zhu Di's five northern expeditions, he brought Liu Sheng by his side, and made many military achievements each time, so he was highly valued and loved by Zhu Di.
In the winter of the first year of Xuande, the power of the rebel army in Annan became stronger and stronger. Zhu Zhanji quickly sent Chengshan Hou Wang Tong to fight, but after a big defeat, he came back. Zhu Zhanji chose to pull Liu Sheng out and appointed him as the deputy general of the expedition and commander, and led an army of 70,000 to help the Duke of Qian Mu Sheng to fight against the rebels.
At that time, the momentum of the Annan Uprising Army had completely increased, and the road was cut off, so that the Ming Dynasty could not get a war report on the Annan front.
Liu Sheng's troops performed well at first, and he won consecutive victories. As a result, his proud old problem broke out again. Li Qing, the Secretary of the Army at that time, was very ill, but even so, he reluctantly dragged his sick body to instruct Liu Sheng not to underestimate the enemy. The arrogant army will definitely be defeated. The enemy may be deliberately showing weakness and need to be more careful of the enemy's ambush.
But Liu Sheng couldn't listen at all. When he marched to the Daomapo area, without exploring the good terrain, he first led more than 100 cavalry to cross the bridge, which made the rear team unable to keep up at all. At this time, the enemy troops who had been ambushed had swarmed out, and the Ming army was in chaos. Liu Sheng was trapped in the mud and unfortunately died of embarrassment. Baoding Bo Liang Ming died of illness that day, and the Shangshu Li Qing also died of illness the next day.
The only general who accompanied him was the governor Cui Ju. He led the army to Changjiang the day after Li Qing's death and fought fiercely with the enemy. He was disintegrated by the opponent's battle elephant , and ended up in a tragic ending of annihilation.
