China Youth Daily Client Zhuhai, Guangdong, November 8 (China Youth Daily·China Youth Network reporter Qiu Chenhui and photographed) On November 8, the 14th China International Aeronautics and Space Expo (hereinafter referred to as China Air Show) opened in Zhuhai, Guangdong. At the air show, the "long neck" YLC-12 radar developed by China Electronics Technology 14 was unveiled again, and its portable version also made its debut on the same stage. The strong contrast between the sister models has attracted attention.
The picture shows the YLC-12 radar.
Experts from the 14th Institute of Electrical Science and Technology of China introduced that the YLC-12, which debuted at the 2021 Zhuhai Air Show, has a unique skill of "stretching the neck" with a sleeve-type one-click lifting 18 meters high, and is also very advanced in terms of technical system. It uses third-generation semiconductors, high-integrated module design, intelligent anti-interference and comprehensive target type recognition technology. Advanced radar technology is complemented by high-lifting bonuses, and the "long-neck" YLC-12 fully solves the detection problems of medium and low altitude, weak, slow, and high-mobile targets.
The portable version of YLC-12 unveiled at this air show is very simple in structure. It consists of a small radar antenna , a data processing box and a simple bracket. The overall height is about only to the waist of an adult. The weight is lighter than that of an ordinary adult. After simple disassembly, it can achieve "carrying on the back and shoulders". It is worth noting that what the audience sees is already a complete radar system. Experts from
14 said that from a large guy who can reach 6 floors to a little guy carrying his back and shoulders, if it weren't for the same model name of YLC-12, it would be hard for the outside world to imagine that they were sister models. The reason for such a transformation is due to the rapid development of my country's radar technology. Through advanced module design and advanced material technology, radar size can be converted and customized according to user needs while ensuring performance. Although the
portable version of YLC-12 is simple and mini, its detection power is not vague at all. It can be used to target mainstream threats such as fighter , drones, helicopters, cruise missile , and other targets, with a detection distance of tens of kilometers. Under the same size, the performance is already outstanding.
Although the portable version of YLC-12 exhibited at the air show is already very "mini", in essence, it is a "big radar" composed of four "small radars", which is one of the biggest highlights of the portable version of YLC-12 - "building blocks".
As we all know, active phased array radar can easily achieve enlargement or reduction with its technical advantages. But this premise is that the size of the radar must be determined during the production stage. The "building-building" design of the portable version of YLC-12 has been taken to a higher level, and its finished products can also be spliced, and the power of the radar will be greatly increased after amplification.
experts gave an example that if two or several portable versions of YLC-12 are available, these radars can splice out a more powerful radar.
