"Hello, I am your doctor in charge Batul, I am from Xinjiang"

"Plug in! Not only need to intubate him, but also to extubate him so that he can leave this place alive and well." Tao Jun said this sentence in " Chinese doctor" Later, he failed to usher in the result he expected, but at that moment, a doctor's idea of saving people broke through the sky. Speaking of doctors, what do we think of?

Is it to cure the disease and save the life, hang the pot to help the world, or rejuvenate the spring with the benevolence of the healer?

In fact, in many cases, the vivid characters behind these grand and abstract vocabulary are often the easiest to ignore.

Before becoming a doctor who is qualified to face patients, how long does a medical student have to go and how many life choices must he face?

stay or go out?

My name is Batur Aikemu, I just finished my doctoral studies at Shanghai Jiaotong University and started a new career... 5

span , Although I have a 642 score report card,But I was caught in a difficult decision-I didn't have a clear life goal at the time.

The wish of my family was to let me study medicine, so I filled in the first column-and the only one- Xinjiang Medical University is a seven-year clinical medicine major.

This score has exceeded the admission scores of many prestigious schools that year, and my choice of "violent horror" was incomprehensible to others, so that my high school volunteer teacher filled in. Talking to me more than once, asking me to be more cautious.

But my father said: " medicine is an eternal profession , if you can stay in your hometown to engage in medical research and medical work, you will surely benefit more people in your hometown." Before applied for the medical profession, I didn't have any grand ideals in my heart. Even before embarking on the path of studying medicine, I never thought that I would become a doctor in the future.

But those words from my father seemed to hit me, and it became my original intention of studying medicine. Since then, with full of enthusiasm, I stayed more firmly in the clinical medicine major of Xinjiang Medical University, and completed seven years of bachelor and master studies.

At that time, I didn’t know that this long journey of learning medicine took more than ten years, and it became more and more determined...

Working hard and motivated

After entering university, I experienced a whole new life. Although my home is only two short stops away from Xinjiang Medical University, I still applied for the school dormitory and met a group of great roommates.

My daily life with everyone makes me adapt to this new environment quickly, and even develops the habit of memorizing books only in school during exam week.

Later, I started to make a splash in the student union.

I know that there is no end to the days of studying and studying in medicine, but life is not necessarily the same. In order to prevent life from being too mediocre, I tried to open another door to a group of passionate and creative people. Together, the young people organize various campus activities to decorate our after-school life.

Among the many activities I participated in, what remains unforgettable for me is the 2016 undergraduate graduation ceremony.

At that ceremony, I had the honor to speak on stage as a representative of graduates. Although I have accumulated a lot of stage experience before, the graduation ceremony that day was extraordinary for me.

looking at the football field full of thousands of people,My legs trembled uncontrollably.

But as the speech progressed, the resonance of the audience and the atmosphere of the scene made me gradually relax. The laughter, applause, and cheers have completely integrated me into the audience.

Later, this 11-minute speech video was uploaded to Youku , and it unexpectedly received 200,000 hits in a week.

I am always grateful for this experience and the clinical medical school for giving me the stage, so that my university life is not limited to the knowledge in books, and can also be used in other public activities.

is the first time to use the "scalpel"

, because of the end of the 's undergraduate study.

During my master's degree, I had the honor to follow Professor Kelimu, a leader in minimally invasive surgery in Xinjiang, mainly studying laparoscopic surgery. Different from the "scalpel" surgery in the textbook, doctors here almost only use laparoscopic instruments to deal with various surgical diseases.

laparoscopic surgery The first step is to inject carbon dioxide gas into the stomach. The propped up belly can create enough space for subsequent operations. After that, the surgeon will put the operating instrument into the patient's belly.

This process generally requires a scalpel to make a few small incisions in the skin, and then insert a plastic trocar through the incision to fix it. And this simple insertion is the first time I have performed an invasive operation on a patient.

My hands are holding the ends of the trocar tightly, and my brain is full of images of blood vessel bleeding caused by improper puncture.

I vigorously rotated the cannula to the left and right, and the patient's belly fell along with it. The abdominal wall seemed to be teasing me. It was so weak during the "hernia", but now it is so tough.

The petite nurse stood by and laughed, and the atmosphere suddenly changed from tension to embarrassment.

Then the teacher walked to my side and demonstrated how to rotate the thin tube, avoid the surrounding organs at the correct angle and depth, and insert the patient very carefully. Belly.

My instinct as a doctor also tells me that I should end this nervous state as soon as possible, because I know that a living life is in my hands at this moment.

That was the first time I got to know and contact surgery or laparoscopic surgery up close, and the operation went very smoothly.

I have paid attention to some medical film and television works before,I admire the scene where the doctor is in danger. But only at the moment when I truly stood on the operating table did I know that it was not the courage of the doctor but his knowledge that could bear the burden of my life.

Life transitions and surprises

Most of the students in the Master's program do not mean the end of the span. At the end of the brigade, doctoral experience has long been the standard for recruiting talents in many departments.

Just when I was hesitating, I was very fortunate to meet another Bole in my life, Professor Zheng Minhua, the pioneer of Chinese laparoscopic surgery.

Thinking back to the year when the college entrance examination was over, my original intention of studying medicine may be to stay in this land where I grew up and give a little effort to my hometown.

The journey of seeking doctors over the years has enabled me to set new goals and have a new understanding of "returning home and giving back to society": being a good doctor is never a self willing to stay. Moved, but the self-iteration after thousands of sails have been exhausted and read all over the mountains and rivers.

From then on I told myself-I will be a good doctor, a good doctor from Xinjiang.

So I embarked on the road to continue to study on the shore of the East China Sea.In my hand is the admission notice from Shanghai Jiaotong University, and there is a girl beside me, who will be my life partner.

My life confidant

This girl is called . We graduated from the same high school, and we are even undergraduate alumni, but she is a school girl who has attracted much attention. I am a campus boy who went straight to the stadium after class.

Our first official meeting was in the summer of 2016. I was standing in the master's office to receive school assignments, and she came wearing a white coat. I was overjoyed to learn that we were about to enter the same door.

Later we rotated in the department together and were put in the same group. I was responsible for managing the medical records, and she was responsible for "troubleshooting" me and correcting mistakes; later we would have lunch together and watch Xinjiang men together.

After graduating, I received a letter of acceptance from Shanghai Jiaotong University . She also got an invitation letter from a medical Internet giant. So we joined hands on the road and started life by the sea together!

In 2019, when we have gained a foothold in our respective positions, we will register our marriage at Shanghai Huangpu . In 2020, we welcome the birth of our daughter Daisy.

Now, with the support of both parents, we are working hard to "run" a small family in Shanghai. In this all-encompassing city, we have also left a small figure of our progress over the past few years.

Because of the support of such a confidant, I have never experienced hardship in my life; because of the company of my family, I always have ideals and bright in my heart.

span5 The baptism of Dr. Span

, I mainly studied 5span5 during my study in the hospital. Every Wednesday at 7 o'clock in the morning, two or three of our teachers will follow the instructor to attend the expert clinic on time.

At this time, only a few patients arrived in the outpatient clinic, and the nurses and security guards had just started to work. The tutor, Professor Zheng Minhua, was already sitting in front of the computer and began to receive today's first patient.

About 3 hours later, the instructor ended the clinic and hurried to the operating room. On the tree-lined road about two to three hundred meters long between the outpatient building and the operating room, the instructor will share with us recent insights and experiences.

It is this path that gave birth to many of my thinking outside of my profession and my insights outside of scientific research: Research should never be the whole life of a PhD.Diploma should never be our only concern. We need to have a solid professional quality, strengthen practical skills, but also care about our family, country and the world, and have a common destiny in mind.

Work at the institute generally starts at 9 am, and graduate students with dark circles will appear in the laboratory one after another to start another day of exploration and research.

Although the waiting time is larger in most experiments, the tight experiment schedule, fine time control, and the need to read a large amount of literature will always last until 7 or 8 in the evening. Even late at night.

Coupled with the unpredictability of the experiment, the whole process of research often takes more or even doubled time than expected.

Fortunately, I met a group of lovely experimental partners. Whenever the experiment encounters obstacles, I can always get inspiration and help from them.

After these three years, I was fortunate to have won the "Shanghai Outstanding Graduate" and "Jiaotong University Medical School Person of the Year" upon graduation. Thanks to the teachers and companions who helped me along the way for making my PhD career exciting and fulfilling.

"slash" life

Even in the most stressful phase of the experiment, I will try to add some leisure activities to my life.

For example, every Thursday night,I always have to spare time to participate in the football training of the Ruijin Academy team, and even the experiment can be temporarily set aside.

If one week is missing a hearty run, the efficiency of the next few days will be greatly reduced.

Bicycle and basketball are also ways to relieve my stress. At the beginning of semester, I won the championship of the hand-to-medical freshman basketball game with the doctoral team.

In addition, I also served as the host of the Orientation Party, Graduation Party, and Graduation Ceremony of Jiaotong University School of Medicine, and received a good response.

I still remember that in 2018, Ayre and Nawkre swept the " China's new rap " champion and runner-up, and the domestic "rap" has set off a lot of popularity.

Inspired by this, on behalf of the department, I created a song about gastroesophageal reflux disease science popularization rap "Reversed You" to participate in the Ruijin Young Physician Science Competition.

In this way, I became the "slash youth" in my colleagues' mouths, but I gladly accepted this "title", not because I can hold multiple jobs, , but really enjoy it Kind of the pleasure of constantly shifting between scientific research and hobbies.

Now, I have finished my Ph.D. research career, and I am rotating as a resident in the surgical base of Ruijin Hospital.

When a patient in Shanghai sees the 6-character name on my badge and looks at me hesitantly, I will say firmly: "Hello, I It’s your doctor in charge Batul, I’m from Xinjiang."

The slash youth refers to a group of young people who no longer satisfy the lifestyle of "single occupation", but choose to have a diverse life with multiple occupations and identities. Crowd. From the English Slash, from the book "Double Career" written by "New York Times" columnist Merrick Alber.

Slash youth is becoming more and more popular, and it has become a passionate way of life for young people.
