years later, the Volunteer Army received a notice to return to the country. The soldiers who helped Korea rebuild after the war will return to the motherland in batches. When the soldiers heard the news that they could go home, they burst into tears and wished they could fly back immediately.
However, there is one exception, he is Wang Xingfu.
It turns out that with the deepening of contacts with the Korean people, volunteer soldier Wang Xingfu met the kind and lovely Wu Yushi, and the two fell in love while getting along day and night.
Of course, in addition to returning to the country, a greater difficulty faced the two of them, namely: our military explicitly prohibited marriage with Koreans, which plunged Wang Xingfu into deep entanglement.

Faced with a situation where he cannot have both, what will Wang Xingfu’s choice be?
1. Beacon Lady
Although volunteer soldier Wang Xingfu did not fight bravely on the battlefield to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea, his rear work cannot be underestimated: commanding military traffic, supplying materials, and receiving leaders and volunteers from all parties, etc. His work is arduous and important.

The family that Wang Xingfu was responsible for helping to rebuild was originally a happy family of four, with a mother and two sons and a daughter. Although their life was not rich, they were happy.
The sudden war broke the peaceful and beautiful days of this family. The two sons had to go to the battlefield, and unfortunately they both died, leaving only a weak girl Wu Yushi and an old and frail mother.
After the war, North Korea was devastated and full of waste. This North Korean family has an old man and a young child, and life is very difficult. 2. Difficult Choices
In 1958, Wang Xingfu received a notice to return to China, but he could not be happy about it. Wu Yushi's mother also liked Wang Xingfu very much, and the two had already made a private life-long commitment. However, as a soldier, the iron-clad laws of the army must not be violated, so what should we do?
"This decree is aimed at the volunteers, you see..." Wang Xingfu's superior said this sentence after repeated thinking. This was the only solution he could think of for his subordinates, which was demobilization.
Wang Xingfu was caught in a dilemma. He came to North Korea at the age of twenty and was engaged in arduous post-war reconstruction work in order to serve the motherland in his prime youth. Now that he was in his prime, he was unwilling to quit serving the motherland. After much thought, he decided to seek the opinion of his lover.
"If I don't leave, will you marry me?" Wang Xingfu asked cautiously.
"Yes, if you want to stay here, I am willing to marry you." The girl said with a blushing face, her smile as bright as the rising sun.
Wang Xingfu did not want to leave lifelong regrets. He also had to take responsibility for this relationship. In the end, he submitted an application for demobilization to the organization. The application had to be approved by the North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Personnel Bureau and other departments. After several twists and turns, he finally received approval from the relevant departments of China and North Korea.
According to the regulations at that time, all overseas Chinese who got married and settled in North Korea must become Korean nationals. After learning of this regulation, Wang Xingfu had to make sacrifices again, giving up his Chinese nationality and becoming a Korean national. His marriage application was finally stamped by the North Korean authorities in 1962, and the word "passed" was approved.
After getting married, the two were very loving, hard-working, and kept the house clean inside and outside. Together they took good care of their old mother and allowed her to enjoy her old age. They lived a prosperous life and soon had the fruit of their love.
Later, Wang Xingfu became the principal of an overseas Chinese primary school. , he taught the children in the school their native language and Chinese characters, told them the history of China, and taught the children never to forget the kindness of the volunteers from China.
This is actually a worry for Wang Xingfu. He never forgets that he is a Chinese and wants to return to the embrace of the motherland. For this reason, he told his wife that he must regain Chinese nationality and return to the motherland. Returning to one's roots after falling leaves is a concept engraved in the bones of the Chinese people.
3. Returning to Hometown
Faced with her husband's homesickness, his wife Wu Yushi touched her husband's hand and said to him: "Now that my mother is gone, there is nothing to miss. We have lived in North Korea for a long enough time. How about I accompany you back to your hometown to live." As soon as these words came out, Wang Xingfu immediately burst into tears, and he hugged his considerate wife.
However, as my country's household registration system continues to improve, it is very difficult for Chinese who have acquired the nationality of another country to change their nationality again. Wu Yushi did not give up, but went to the government again and again to inquire about the progress of the procedures. During this period, he continued to apply for various formality certificates. Until the late 1970s, the two submitted materials to the Chinese Embassy in North Korea to return to the country and settle down. Finally, they were approved, and Wu Yushi officially became a Chinese national.
In 1981, this veteran soldier who had been away from the motherland for more than 20 years finally returned to the embrace of the motherland with his wife and children. The former hero who aided Korea had become an old man who had experienced many vicissitudes of life. When many media rushed to report their love story, the two old men still did not like to be public and silently returned to their simple and ordinary life.
He used to be high-spirited. Faced with the appointment of the motherland, he had the courage to take responsibility and move forward bravely. Wang Xingfu worked in his hometown until he retired smoothly at the age of 60, and enjoyed his old age with his wife.
