Fortunately, it was already autumn, and the wild fruits on the mountain could basically be eaten, so the anti-Japanese Allied Forces officers and soldiers picked wild fruits to satisfy their hunger. However, winter is coming, and if you don’t prepare enough food, it will be difficult to bear.

After research by Political Commissar Jin and several company cadres, they found ways to get something to eat. He sent people to Wang Fugang (now Yihe Village, Qixingpao Township, Baoqing County) to reconnaissance. On the one hand, he found out the enemy's situation, where he concentrated, and how many guns there were, and from which road he could enter to block the attack. On the other hand, I found the people who had given supplies to my Anti-Japanese United Army to find out the enemy’s details, where there is food, and how to transport the food out.

Our army scout came back and reported that there was a pseudo police branch in the village, with a total of five pseudo police officers and twelve pseudo self-defense team members. They all had guns. After hearing this news, the officers and soldiers were anxious to get some food and then evacuate here as soon as possible.
