The Twenty Ones have just concluded successfully, and the Taiwan Strait is once again trapped in speculation of a conflict. Recently, senior officials from the United States' political and military circles have been threatening that mainland China is trying to accelerate the unification of Taiwan, and some media have also contributed to the fire and reported that it is necessary to build Taiwan as a "huge arsenal", and even the United States and Taiwan jointly produce weapons, intending to move the "Ukrainian model" to Taiwan. Taiwan's "National Security Director" Chen Mingtong also changed the iron-mouthed assertion that "Tsai Ing-wen will not fight wars during her tenure", and changed it to the mainland in 2023 that it may "force talks through war." Strangely, later, Gu Lixiong, Secretary-General of the Taiwan Security Conference, said that he had not seen this situation yet (referring to the mainland's forced talks through war) and could be called an immediate slap in the face of Chen Mingtong. What is the truth?

The heads of the US and Taiwan political and military have recently warned that mainland China may attack Taiwan. Since the Taiwan-related discourse in the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China emphasized that the resolute struggle against separatism and interference can be regarded as a defensive warning against the intervention of external forces led by the United States and the DPP authorities' intention to "Taiwan independence"; US Secretary of State Blinken has made many statements in recent days that Beijing is determined to speed up the unification timetable and does not hesitate to achieve the goal of unification by force, and the US military chief has made various predictions that mainland China will use force against Taiwan. As a result, the stimulating language and actions of China and the United States have made the security situation in the Taiwan Strait worsen and the risks of conflict and war have increased.

Speaking language and actions between China and the United States have made the security situation in the Taiwan Strait worsen.

In fact, cross-strait relations are becoming more and more tense because the US is increasingly curbing, and the DPP authorities rely on the US to seek independence, so cross-strait relations have been embedded in Sino-US relations . The more the United States deepens and enhances US-Taiwan relations, the more Taiwan plays the vanguard role of the United States in "system-based China", and the more urgent the mainland will be to speed up the resolution of the Taiwan issue. However, although the mainland has strengthened its arguments and actions to promote unification, it still adheres to the policy of "peaceful reunification" and emphasizes that anti-independence only targets specific people and external forces who are divided by "Taiwan independence".

Why is the US so urgently acknowledging that "Beijing is determined to speed up unification" and "when the pressure is ineffective, it may meet the standards by force"? Could it be that the United States can no longer hold back and hopes to use Taiwan to provoke conflicts in the Taiwan Strait as soon as possible?

According to the Biden administration's " National Security Strategy Report " released not long ago, the United States' global strategic priority is to win and limit Russia in the competition with China. Biden's national security strategy is very bold. It not only wants to win China and prevent China from becoming a world power, but also deeply involved in European affairs and attempts to restore the role of the United States as a world policeman, but the United States' national strength can no longer face two fronts at the same time. Former Australian Prime Minister Rudd recently published a new book "Avoidable War" pointing out that making the Taiwan Strait always a sea of peace is the best situation for China and the United States. Rudd believes that the United States underestimates China's determination and ability on cross-strait reunification issues, and aggressively inciting "Taiwan independence and anti-China" will only hurt both China and the United States. What he did not say is that the United States is happy to see a war breaking out in the Taiwan Strait and can take the opportunity to push Taiwan to the front line and engage in a scorched earth war. The United States supports it with force behind it and fights a protracted war of attrition to severely damage China's national strength and ensure the United States' hegemony. Sadly, the DPP authorities are afraid of being ineffective in acting as a pawn in the American system, and are pushing Taiwan into the danger of war.

DPP authorities act as a pawn in the American system to push Taiwan into the danger of war.

Further said that as long as there is political mutual trust, consultation and dialogue, and exchanges and cooperation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, the two sides may maintain peaceful development and will not slide into the abyss of military reunification. The reason why some people think that Beijing has stepped up preparations for the attack on Taiwan by force is that since the DPP authorities came to power in 2016, they have not only overturned the political foundation of the " 1992 Consensus ", interrupted cross-strait consultations, but also legislation has set unreasonable thresholds for cross-strait political negotiations, which has deepened the mainland's understanding of "the hope of peaceful reunification is disappearing"; the second is that since the Trump administration, US-Taiwan relations have been rapidly improved, and the US policy to Taiwan has gradually approached the critical point of clear strategic strategy, which has caused the mainland to have to promote a plan that does not rule out the use of force to curb the qualitative change of US-Taiwan relations. Of course, structural confrontation between China and the United States is the fundamental factor, but Taiwan bears the most cutting-edge pressure on the spiral of security difficulties. However, Taiwan is not without choice and should try to avoid bad luck. However, in order to take power and continue to rule, the DPP authorities rashly jumped into a role they could not hold on.

The DPP authorities repeatedly deteriorated cross-strait relations. The shirked the blame because the mainland has preset a negotiating stance and has not given up attacking Taiwan by force so far, but never admits that there is any problem with the practice of exaggerating the slogan of "anti-China and protecting Taiwan" and causing the spiral rise of cross-strait hostility, which has made changes in the situation in the Taiwan Strait an anxiety of the international community in recent years. The DPP authorities' statement is just to avoid the shirking words of Taiwanese people's accountability, and there is no credibility at all! In fact, the mainland has never given up on the political declaration of using force against Taiwan, and it is to use this strategy as the last means to prevent the DPP authorities from promoting "legal Taiwan independence". What's more, the DPP authorities never thought about how to persuade the mainland to change to promote cross-strait negotiations in a peaceful way, but destroyed the original cross-strait political foundation with the two-sided methods of "verbally abide by the constitution and act secretly independent". Isn't this also the reason why cross-strait relations are deadlocked?

In short, more than six years since the Tsai administration of the DPP came to power, the hostility between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait has shown a spiral increase. The key is that the Tsai administration insists on promoting the "new two-state theory", destroying the "guardrail" between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, leading to the deterioration of relations and the continuous increase in the crisis. The Green Camp is accustomed to taking fantasy as reality, believing that the United States will inevitably send troops to "assist" Taiwan, and mistakenly think that the United States will provide military protection for free. In fact, the risk of conflicts in the Taiwan Strait is increasing. Mainland, the United States and Taiwan each have their own operating space to avoid war. For Taiwan, the most important thing is to completely abandon the "new two-state theory" and return to the framework of "one China". This is the top priority.
