Looking back at this history, some things are often just a thought. If the return is Su Yu , China will lose one war god and one general will be missing in the founding of the country.
Many people met Fang Zhimin because of "Lovely China", and was only 36 years old when they died. But history remembers him, his short life was brilliant, Fang Zhimin was an outstanding proletarian revolutionary and military strategist, and the founder of the revolutionary base in Fujian, Zhejiang (Anhui) and Jiangxi and the Red Tenth Army.
Red Seventh Army suffered heavy losses
In the summer of 1934, the Red Seventh Army was ordered to take on the task of the anti-Japanese advance team, and the north and southern Anhui were released, and the anti-Japanese war was announced.
But everyone was not clear at that time. The more important purpose of this action was to "surround Wei and save Zhao", that is, to directly enter the core hinterland of the Kuomintang rule, attract some troops to "encircle and suppress" and cooperate with the Red Army main force Long March .
In a sense, the Red Seventh Legion plays the role of "abandoned son".
First, look at the configuration of this army. The entire army originally had 4,000 soldiers, 2,000 temporary recruits, a total of 6,000 people, and 3 divisions were divided into three regiments. In fact, it was the strength of three regiments, one-third of which were non-combatants. What's even more terrifying is the lack of weapons. The entire legion only has more than 1,200 guns, and most of them have fire sticks.
Second, the troops are carrying the burden and are slow to move. The central government handed over more than 300 loads of leaflets, plus logistics supplies and cooking burdens, there were more than 500 loads of them. The soldiers must be both alert and take turns carrying things.
3, command issue. According to normal circumstances, the core leadership should be the commander of the army Xun Huaizhou, the political commissar Le Shaohua, and the chief of staff Su Yu. But in fact, those who hold real power are political commissars and central representatives who have no experience in fighting.
Political Commissar Le Shaohua is an "left" error insisting on executing. He came to the Seventh Army as the political commissar after returning from studying in the Soviet Union.
Central representative Zeng Hongyi served as the central representative of the Fujian, Zhejiang and Jiangxi Soviet Area and the provincial party committee secretary, and later surrendered and rebelled.
The Red Seventh Army swayed like this and set out northwards in a mighty way. The Kuomintang army did not understand the reality and followed the way, but did not dare to act rashly. If you go to southern Anhui like this, you may be able to arrive safely and preserve your strength. But at a critical moment, the Central Military Commission issued an order, ordering the Seventh Army to attack Fuzhou.
Fuzhou defenders only had two regiments, but the seventh Army had acted and aroused the vigilance of the Kuomintang army. The 87th Division and the 49th Division relaxed their aid to Fuzhou. The Seventh Army attacked Fuzhou fiercely, and a day and night passed, and there was little progress, but most of the troops were lost and they were forced to retreat.
But what is terrible is that it exposed its strength and attracted attacks from various pursuers. The situation is very critical!
In the face of danger, the Red Ten Army was formed
At this time, the Red Seventh Army was vulnerable, and the head of the Red Ten Army was Fang Zhimin.
Red Seventh Army was forced to combine with the Red Ten Army, the main force of Fujian, Zhejiang and Jiangxi Soviet Area, to establish the Red Ten Army. At this time, the leadership of the legion also changed. Liu Chouxi became the commander of the legion, and Xun Huaizhou was demoted to the commander of the division. Fang Zhimin serves as the chairman of Military and Political Committee .
On December 14, the Red Tenth Army concentrated its main force to ambush the follower of the Kuomintang's First Supplementary Brigade at Tanjiaqiao on the eastern foot of Huangshan Mountain. Due to improper deployment, it failed and died in Xunhuaizhou.
On January 9, 1935, the Red Tenth Army moved to Chashan Village, Sui'an County, western Zhejiang Province, and held an emergency meeting to study how to get rid of the current dilemma.
Su Yu advocated splitting his troops and transferred to guerrilla warfare . His plan was to streamline the organization and form three elite troops, operate separately, and form a stance to attack.
The commander of the Legion Liu Chouxi disagreed. The Red Tenth Army still had 8,000 people, but he was not at the end of his life. He advocated that the entire army gather and go south to the northeastern Zhejiang Soviet Area.
Political Commissar Le Shaohua also disagreed with the division of troops to fight. In the end, Fang Zhimin had no choice but to agree to the suggestion of the commander of the army.
This decision led the Red Ten Army to the destruction
For this decision, Fang Zhimin regretted it in prison. He said:
First, it is difficult to enter Soviet area through the enemy blockade line; second, if you enter the Soviet area, the place is small, and the possibility of being surrounded by the enemy is very high; third, if you leave the Soviet area again, it is difficult to pass the blockade line.
On January 12, the army arrived in Yanglin, Kaihua County, Zhejiang Province, just one mountain away from the northern central area of the northeastern Jiangxi Soviet Area. At that time, the army was divided into two parts. Fang Zhimin and Su Yu led 800 people including the agency, the wounded and the sick, the logistics personnel, etc. to take the lead.
At this time, someone asked for instructions: "The Soviet area is ahead. The troops are very tired and the wounded cannot walk. Can you rest?"
Fang Zhimin looked at Su Yu, and Su Yu immediately replied: "It is not safe if you don't have the Soviet area. Tell your comrades and try harder."
The vanguard troops did not rest, and insisted on walking to the Soviet area before resting, without any loss of soldiers.
The main force was not the case. As soon as it arrived at the poplars, Liu Chouxi ordered a rest, and he rested for a day and a night. It didn't start leaving until the 13th. But at this time, the Kuomintang Zhejiang Security Column was already blocking the attack in front, and Liu Chouxi had to take a detour and arrived in the Soviet area on the 15th. But at this time, the Kuomintang mobilized 20 regiments to follow.
Fang Zhimin returned to be captured
16, Fang Zhimin exchanged views with Su Yu, always thinking that the vanguard troops would set off immediately, and at the same time notified Liu Chouxi to follow. But at 6 pm, the correspondent came to report, and Liu Chouxi said he was very tired and could not leave that night.
Su Yu was anxious when he heard this: "How can this work? The main force must pass the blockade line tonight." Fang Zhimin agreed with this judgment. Su Yu immediately wrote a letter to Liu Chouxi to inform the enemy, and followed up with the order, and had to cross the blockade line tonight.
letter was taken away by the correspondent, but Su Yu was still worried, worried that the commander of the corps stubbornly refused to leave, so he decided: "I'll go there to help the commander of the corps and keep up quickly."
Fang Zhimin thought for a while and felt that if he went back to supervise, he would be more suitable. Fang Zhimin brought a guard squad and returned, but he never thought that this would become a farewell forever.
Liu Chouxi joined the Communist Party in 1922, graduated from the first phase of Huangpu , participated in the Northern Expedition, and his left arm was intercepted due to injury. In 1927, he participated in the Nanchang Uprising and the Guangzhou Uprising . He served as the division commander, commander of the Red Army, and commander of the army. In terms of qualifications, Su Yu is far behind. Fang Zhimin is the chairman of the military and political affairs, so it is more appropriate to go.
16, the Kuomintang strengthened the blockade, but the troops were insufficient, making it difficult to form an effective blockade. Su Yu used only two squads to attract firepower, so he allowed the vanguard to pass the blockade. Later it was transferred to a safe area.
Starting from midnight, Su Yu was waiting for news from the large army and Fang Zhimin. It did not come in the second half of the night. Su Yu sent plainclothes to pick him up, but there was still no news. After that, there has not been a day, two days, three days, and four days. When you turn on it, you can hear some gunfire sounds, and it gradually became quiet.
A week later, the exact news was obtained, and the Red Tenth Army was wiped out, and Fang Zhimin and Liu Chouxi were captured. Through some soldiers who broke through, they learned that on the evening of the 16th, Liu Chouxi insisted on resting and did not leave. He forcibly passed the blockade line on the 17th, encountered strong firepower obstacles and was forced to turn back. After changing directions many times, he could not break through. The following Kuomintang supplementary first brigade arrived, forming a siege.
