For a long time, the number of prisoners of war deaths in Korean War is two mysteries. How could it be such a way of expressing two mysteries? First, the number of deaths from the Volunteer Army and the People's Army is a mystery, and second, the number of deaths from the US, South Korean and " United Nations Army " is a mystery. No one in the world has studied these two things. Because the research is too difficult, one is the lack of data, and the other is the inability to accurately count. For example, the US military captured 20 volunteer prisoners of war, but reported the results as "killing 20 Chinese people". Who can find out? Unless Americans proudly write such things into their memoirs or in their home letters.

1. Volunteer prisoners of war who died in prison camps

The only prisoners of war who died in prison camps can have accurate statistics.

In 1998, the United States announced the death toll of volunteer prisoners of war and People's Army prisoners of war in prison camps during the Korean War, with a total of 7,614 people.

There are three main reasons for the death of prisoners of war in Volunteer Army and People's Army. The first was tuberculosis , causing the death of 2,404 prisoners of war; the second was dysentery, causing the death of 2,299 prisoners of war.

Although China has not conducted detailed research on the death of US prisoners of war in the Korean War, I have told you in my paid articles that the main cause of death of US prisoners of war is dysentery.

The third-ranked Volunteer Army and People's Army prisoners of war died - the cause of external violence. In fact, it was just three simple words, and there were 817 people killed. See the table below.

These three sets of data account for 72.5% of the total deaths of prisoners of war in the Volunteer Army and the People's Army announced by the US military.

So how many volunteer prisoners of war are among the 7614 and 817 people? I asked Professor Chang Cheng, and he said that according to his manual inventory of the list of volunteer soldiers' prisoners one by one, 325 people were noted "death" among the 21,105 volunteer soldiers' prisoners. Among them, dozens of people were abused and killed by the former Kuomintang army in the Volunteer Army, as well as the steadfast volunteer commanders and fighters (i.e., killing traitors); less than a hundred people were killed by US sentries in the 11th flag-raising ceremony. The total number of people is no more than 150, and the rest are dying of illness.

That is to say, the total deaths of 7,289 prisoners of war in the People's Army, and the total deaths of 325 prisoners of war in the Volunteer Army, accounting for 4% of the total deaths of prisoners of war in the People's Army; about 670 prisoners of war in the People's Army, and less than 150 prisoners of war in the Volunteer Army, accounting for 18% of the deaths of prisoners of war in the violent cause.

According to the popular writing style on the Internet, we must desperately expose the sins and cruelty of the US imperialists, so that we can win a lot of praise. But I can't speak against my conscience. Chang Cheng counted the list one by one. There were less than 100 volunteer prisoners of war killed by the US military in the prisoner-of-war camp.

But is that all? Surely not.

2. Records of killing prisoners scattered in various American vectors

In a archive in Hawaii, some letters from American soldiers during the Korean War were displayed. A US corporal named Sonny wrote in his letter: "(November 2, 1950) At that time, my platoon was walking on a hill and had a difficult time. About halfway through, the Chinese shot at us. Everyone fell to the ground. At first we thought it was from other American soldiers, but later we found that it was Chinese. Our lieutenant ordered us to charge up the mountain, and our machine gun would cover it. When we almost reached the peak, they began to throw hand grenades at us. When we were shooting , we drove us down a few feet from the summit. We couldn't reach the summit, so we threw grenades at them too. But we still couldn't reach the summit, so we went down the mountain, about halfway through our lieutenant command to stop and let the tank below the mountain fire upwards, and we started again.

tank had a 90mm gun on the tank, so I think you know what it would affect them. Well, machine gun again covered us, this time we succeeded. We reached the summit and the lieutenant ordered not to take prisoners, so we exploded anything moving.I don't like shooting someone who gives up, but when you stop and think about what they did to our kids, I and the other kids are angry. So we killed everyone on the mountain, a total of 20. It was a tough day for us to queue up. "

Three months later, this American corporal was shot and killed by a volunteer machine gunner. His letter was kept in the archives as a relic. This guy is not well educated, and the original text of the letter was written in a mess, and he could finally express his meaning clearly.

American writer who recorded all this wrote: "That day, Company F committed war crimes. "

Similar plots can be seen in many American books. Killing captives of volunteers is not an isolated case, but a common phenomenon. In previous articles, I told you that on January 3, 1951, in the third battle of Buguli, a volunteer soldier captured a British prisoner. During the escort of the prisoners, he was captured and captured in turn. As a result, the British killed him halfway. This was written in the history of the British army.

And we must know that the enemy committed such war crimes on the battlefield, not the behavior of the lower-level soldiers themselves, but endorsed by the senior officials.

3, Walker personally incited the US soldiers to kill the prisoners

After the Volunteer Army entered the North Korea, although MacArthur was still strongly denying it, the officers and soldiers on the front line of the US military still knew it. After all, the captured volunteer soldiers are much more convincing than MacArthur's denial. For US military officers and soldiers, China's interference is something they do not want to see, which means that their desire to go home is shattered, and they have to fight an unknown terrifying opponent.

In order to boost morale, Walker made a speech at the 7th Cavalry Regiment of the 1st Cavalry Division of the US Cavalry Division when inspecting the troops.

Walker said: "I hope that when the regiment moves forward, everyone will only think of one idea, that is, kill people. "The US military's "The 7th Cavalry Regiment War Diary" wrote: "General Walker said that there is no need for prisoners now. ”

In order to encourage the US military to not keep prisoners, Walker further stated: “I hope that the current members of the 7th Cavalry Regiment can be in line with the killers who served in the regiment in history under General Custer . If you do this, then you have done what God has given you. "

Walker's speech is actually a typical mentality of white people who think they are superior. It is exactly the same as the mentality of the Western colonists in the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Killing pagans and occupying their wives and daughters' wealth is a mission given to them by God.

Walker, the commander of the 8th Army, personally encouraged the US soldiers not to be captured and killed. Faced with such black and white archival records, what else What can be said? The US military killed prisoners, which is a fact, and no one can deny it.

However, no American book or archive can record how many volunteer prisoners were killed in one by one, and will only bring inadvertently a single record.

Therefore, accurate numbers are impossible, only roughly estimated.

0 Note: General Custer, who Walker mentioned, was a cavalry general in the American Civil War. When the famous general Robert Lee's Northern Virginia Legion surrendered, a cavalry division led by Custer was intercepting General Lee's retreat. However, after the end of the American Civil War, Custer was demoted to lieutenant colonel and was the commander of the 7th Cavalry Regiment. Since 1868, Custer led the 7th Cavalry Regiment to start a conquest of the Indians, and was hated by the Indians because of the bloody killing of the Indians. On June 25, 1876, Custer was defeated by the Indians and the Sioux and The ambush of the 1st tribe of the Cheyenne html, all 266 people were killed by the Indians, and no one was left. This genocide had no good ending.

Walker mentioned in his speech that Custer's deeds were not during the Civil War, but referring to Custer's massacre of the Indians. This shows that in the eyes of Walker, a white supremacist, the Chinese are inferior nations like the Indians, so he deserves to kill them. Therefore, two months later, Walker was hit and killed by the truck of the 6th Division of the South Korean Army.

4. Estimated data

After the Korean War armistice negotiations began, the two sides reached a consensus and exchanged the list of prisoners of war in their hands. As a result, the US military and the volunteers were both shocked after obtaining the list of prisoners of war.

Americans and Koreans handed over a total of 132,474 prisoners, including 20,700 volunteers, 111,774 people in the People's Army, and 37,000 civilians were detained.

The list of prisoners of war handed over by our side and North Korea is 11,559, including 3,198 US troops, 7,142 Korean troops, 919 British troops, 274 Turkish troops, and 26 other "United Nations troops".

The US representative strongly protested, and the Americans said that the North Korean authorities had hyped up their 65,000 prisoners in total? Where is the person? Moreover, this data is too far from the number of 88,000 South Korean troops and 11,500 US troops submitted by the United States to be captured or missing. The U.S. military representative said he could not accept it and asked for an explanation.

The propaganda of the People's Army was captured by the Americans, and most of the captured Korean army were actually supplemented by the People's Army. We can only explain that most of the prisoners received humanitarian re-education on the front line and were released, and after they were released, they voluntarily joined the People's Army. At that time, the Americans almost cursed after hearing this explanation. Our attitude was, anyway, do you believe it or not.

The Korean army has actually incorporated many People's Army prisoners of war into the Korean army, so the US military representatives are well aware of this matter and do not want to bother them too much. Moreover, Americans do not care about the lives and deaths of Koreans.

But what the Americans are confused about is that the 11,500 captured or missing US troops they counted and the list of 3,198 people submitted by China and North Korea is too big. Our explanation for this is that the rest of the people were released. The Americans almost cursed again, clearly releasing less than 100 people. Our attitude is still, anyway, do you believe it or not?

In fact, during the armistice negotiations, several representatives of the United States were very stupid and had no quick brains. Therefore, Americans now have very low evaluations of their representatives. The evaluation of volunteer army negotiators is: Chinese people can say 2+2 equals 5, and they can also make you believe that 2+2 really equals 5.

So, the "Hanli incident" broke out. Lieutenant Colonel Hanli, the military judge of Lieutenant General Hanli, held a press conference at the instruction of Lieutenant, saying that since November 1950, the Chinese have massacred 2,513 US prisoners of war and 250 other prisoners of war from the "United Nations Army". During the same period, the People's Army has massacred only 147 "United Nations Army" prisoners of war. I have already talked about this in previous articles.

Later, under the doubts of the American media, Li Qiwei personally said that he had made a mistake and there was no evidence that the Chinese massacred prisoners of war. However, after investigation, the US military said at least 6,000 prisoners of war were shot and killed by the People's Army, and one report even stated that only 20 American soldiers captured by the People's Army survived.

Although it has nothing to do with the Volunteer Army, the official chief representative of the armistice negotiation is the People's Army's Nanri . The US military investigated and found out that the prisoners of war were shot dead by the People's Army, which is still a good opportunity to put pressure on us during the armistice negotiation. But the Americans pretended that this was not the case and let the matter go like this.

You should know that during the armistice negotiations, both sides would be right as long as they caught each other's fault, and they would even slap the table and scold each other. But the Americans pretended that this was not the case and never mentioned it when they clearly grabbed the braid. Because the Volunteer Army proposed that 25,600 people were missing, while the list of prisoners of war submitted by the United States was only 20,700, a difference of nearly 5,000. Americans can't explain the issue of

, or can explain it, but they can't say it.

So the Americans started creating the "Hanli incident" and tried to make a move first, turning the tables, accusing the volunteers of killing US prisoners of war. But when the matter was investigated clearly, it was not the volunteers shot, the US military immediately shut up. The volunteer army did not kill the US prisoners of war, but the Americans knew it very well. So, we can now see that there are countless rumors about the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, but none of them are rumors that the volunteers killed U.S. prisoners of war.

In view of Walker's incitement and the widespread US military's prisoners of war, the estimated data of volunteers' prisoners of war shot by the US military on the battlefield is naturally between 25,600-20,700=4,900, which is definitely less than 4,900. After all, some people died in battle, but there are definitely many people who were captured and killed (based on my experience in studying the Korean War in recent years, most of the missing people in the Korean War died after being captured). Therefore, it is estimated that at least 2,000-3,000 volunteer prisoners of war were killed by the US military.
