The U.S. Department of Defense will invest US$197 million in advanced microelectronics technology. This batch of funds will be invested in two projects: "Rapid Assured Microelectronics Prototypes (RAMP)" and "State- of-the-Art Heterogeneous Integration Prototype, SHIP)" project.

Orbital Sidekick Company has won the US$16 million "Strategic Financing (STRATFI)" project contract from AFVentures, Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), and Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), the commercial investment arm of the US Air Force.
