1 In early 1952, the 141st Division of the Volunteer Army, which had just crushed the enemy's "Autumn Offensive", was ordered to rest and train in the area of Chengchuan County. Taking advantage of this period, the division commander Ye Jianmin and several other division leaders went to various grassroots companies to guide the work of the troops.
Unexpectedly, during this time of work at the grassroots level, Commander Ye accidentally discovered Luo Shengjiao, who died in rescue of a North Korean boy who fell into the water, but was listed as a "discipline-violating fighter".
It can be said that if there were no Ye Jianmin, Luo Shengjiao would not have become a hero...
Investigation of Luo Shengjiao's "discipline violation" After
As the leader of the first division of , Ye Jianmin not only "squatted" in the regiment, he also needs to return to the agency to handle some work frequently. On that day, Ye Jianmin had just returned to the division headquarters and saw the three layers inside and outside the division department surrounded the North Korean people. Judging from their expressions, everyone was excited and sad.
Ye Jianmin felt something big had happened and hurriedly asked the accompanying staff to get off the car to find out the situation. The staff soon came back to report that there was a soldier named Luo Shengjiao in the division's reconnaissance company who died to save a North Korean boy. These ordinary people came to the army today to ask the army to let them use the customs of North Korea to bury the young soldier.
After listening to the staff’s report, Ye Jianmin suddenly remembered an accident notice he had seen a few days ago, which mentioned the drowning of this soldier named Luo Shengjiao. But judging from the behavior of these North Korean people, Luo Shengjiao's accidental drowning seems to be not an ordinary accident.
Ye Jianmin hurriedly instructed the staff to learn more and come back to report to himself.

The staff came back not long after. It turned out that these North Korean people had been asking for credit for Luo Shengjiao, and an old lady took the initiative to sacrifice her cemetery to bury Luo Shengjiao. These ordinary people said that Luo Shengjiao died to save their children, and hoped that the volunteer army would hand over the body to them and be buried according to the most solemn funeral in North Korea.
Hearing these situations, Ye Jianmin secretly thought about it for a while, and then asked someone to find the head of the publicity section and the head of the direct engineering section to ask them if they knew about this. The chief of the direct engineering department replied that Luo Shengjiao fell into the river and drowned. According to regulations, he had reported to the army as a non-combat reduction officer and made an accident notice in each regiment.
According to ordinary people's ideas, this matter has been reported to the entire army. If any changes are made, it will inevitably affect the image of the superior unit. But Ye Jianmin believes that as a teacher, he has the responsibility to clarify the truth of this matter.
If Luo Shengjiao’s deeds of saving people were reported as a “discipline violation”, not only could he not explain it to the vast majority of the North Korean people, but he also felt sorry for the hero’s spirit in heaven.
The next morning, Ye Jianmin brought two section chiefs and braved the cold to the place where Luo Shengjiao saved people on the spot. At that time, the mother of Luo Shengjiao rescued North Korean teenager Cui Ying heard about it, and hurried to the place where the child had happened. As soon as they met, she knelt on the ground and thanked Teacher Ye, and then told the detailed story of Luo Shengjiao saving people in tears.

At that time, Cui Ying and several companions were playing on the ice and accidentally fell into the ice hole . Cui Ying slapped the ice surface in desperation, causing the cracks on the ice surface to become bigger and bigger. He wanted to climb up along the edge of the ice, but because of his weak strength, he not only did not climb up, but also sank.
Several other companions shouted anxiously on the shore, and suddenly they found two volunteer soldiers in the distance, so they hurriedly waved to them. The two volunteer soldiers rushed over quickly. One of them ran and took off his clothes, shouting in his mouth to ask the other to find the telephone pole, and he fled into the river without hesitation.
He is Luo Shengjiao who has already sacrificed.
Luo Shengjiao searched in the cold river for a long time, and after coming up and changing his anger several times, he finally grabbed Cui Ying and pushed Cui Ying onto the ice surface with all his strength. Before his friend could pull him over, the ice surface collapsed again and Cui Ying fell into the water again.
Luo Shengjiao hurriedly swam over, grabbed Cui Ying and swam to the edge of the ice hole, and pushed him out of the ice surface with force. The volunteer soldiers on the shore pulled Cui Ying up.
Unfortunately, Luo Shengjiao stayed in the ice water for too long, and his body was frozen and he could no longer climb up the ice edge by himself. His companions on the shore handed the telephone pole to the water, and as long as Luo Shengjiao grabbed it, he could pull him up. But Luo Shengjiao was exhausted and washed away by the rapids under the ice.

The Korean people who rushed over to the rescue with tools and smashed ice to rescue them. After searching for a long time, they finally picked up Luo Shengjiao, whose body was already stiff, at a hundred meters away from the accident site. Everyone kept shouting, but they could not get his answer.
After listening to Cui Ying's mother's introduction, Ye Jianmin was very excited. He walked to the ice surface and observed carefully and found that the ice cave that caused Cui Ying to fall into the water had not completely frozen. From the shape of the edge of the ice cave, combined with Cui Ying's mother's narration, it can be seen that Cui Ying was lifted out of the ice surface several times and fell into the water several times.
In such cold weather, the time people can persevere in the glacier is limited. In this way, Luo Shengjiao sacrificed gloriously to save people, not a simple "drowning accident".
Through on-site investigation, Ye Jianmin had a clear understanding of this matter. He was proud of having such a good soldier. At the same time, he also realized that he had the responsibility to correct the conclusions of this matter, so that more people could understand the process of Luo Shengjiao saving people, and let everyone remember and learn the spirit of Luo Shengjiao.
Three Burial Luo Shengjiao
After returning to the division headquarters, Ye Jianmin told the political commissar of the division about his investigation. After discussion, the two decided to investigate the deeds of Luo Shengjiao as a "drowning accident" to avoid similar problems in the future. At the same time, they reported Luo Shengjiao's deeds again to their superiors, publicizing the spirit of Luo Shengjiao to save people throughout the division, and inspiring the morale of the officers and soldiers.
That night, the materials for the Luo Shengjiao rescue report signed by Ye Jianmin were drafted. Unlike the previous materials, the "accident notice" became a report for requesting merit.
Why did Luo Shengjiao sacrifice himself to save people but was reported as a "drowning accident" by the company?

It turns out that there are two forms in the Volunteer Army company. One is the “Combat Reduction Registration Form”, which fills out casualties and missing persons during the battle. The victims are revolutionary martyrs and their families enjoy the treatment of martyrs; the other is the “Non-Combat Reduction Registration Form”, which is used to report casualties and deaths in accidents.
Generally speaking, if the company loses its personnel, it needs to report to its superiors on the same day. After Luo Shengjiao's sacrifice, the cultural teacher who was responsible for filling out the form was very angry. According to the filling instructions on the form, Luo Shengjiao's sacrifice was identified as "non-combat reduction", and wrote in the reason column "In order to rescue North Korean children, they accidentally fell into the water and drowned."
At that time, the deputy company commander said nothing after reading it. After signing, he asked someone to send it to the regiment headquarters. This is the whole story of Luo Shengjiao's sacrifice being characterized as a "drowning accident".
At the subsequent meeting of cadres at the League camp above, Ye Jianmin, on behalf of the Party Committee, announced the decision to learn from the martyrs of Luo Shengjiao. , characterized Luo Shengjiao's sacrifice as the same as the heroes sacrificed on the battlefield, was a feat of fulfilling internationalist obligations. He expressed his gratitude and support for the Korean people's request to bury Luo Shengjiao. At the same time, he revoked the accident notice and distributed the heroic deeds of Luo Shengjiao to the company, requiring all officers and soldiers of the division to learn the spirit of Luo Shengjiao.

html In the morning of November 5, the army and division leaders came to the small mountain village where Luo Shengjiao died. The first sentence when they got off the bus was: "Where is the grave of the hero Luo Shengjiao?"
Why do they ask this? It turned out that after Luo Shengjiao died, he had already undergone two burials.
The first burial came after the North Korean people found Luo Shengjiao's body. At that time, everyone was still looking forward to a miracle. The military doctor gave Luo Shengjiao an injection, tried hard to rescue, and finally shook his head to the expected crowd. The old lady brought the soup made of local medicine and ginger and tried to pour it into Luo Shengjiao's mouth.
When all the solutions that can be thought of were used, everyone had to admit this fact that Luo Shengjiao had passed away forever.
After dark, the instructor did not eat. He lay under the dim light and wrote the detailed story of Luo Shengjiao's drowning. The deputy company commander did not eat either. He brought the "martyrs' uniform" sewn from a seven-foot white cloth and wrapped the body of Luo Shengjiao in tears. None of the soldiers in the company had eaten. Everyone turned on flashlights and carried Luo Shengjiao's body and buried him under the Buddha's cave mountain.
Unexpectedly, just dawn the next day, the old man in the village took a group of girls to dig out the body of Luo Shengjiao and carry it to the village primary school. The volunteer soldiers who were unknown came to the school heard the news, but were stunned by the scene in front of them.

The people took off the "martyrs' uniform" on Luo Shengjiao. Some people washed their faces with warm water. Some took out the cosmetics they treasured when they got married and put on makeup for Luo Shengjiao. A group of North Korean girls were competing to paint Luo Shengjiao's eyebrows. Primary school students spread the pine branches and leaves they picked on the pieced desk as spirit bed .
The elders in the village took out all the treasures they hid in the cellar and placed them around Luo Shengjiao's body. Another old man donated his life material and buried Luo Shengjiao with his own hands. After the arrangement of
was completed, a touching scene of crying and dancing with songs appeared in front of Luo Shengjiao.
After the ceremony, the village branch secretary took eight girls to bury Luo Shengjiao in a sunny tomb on the Buddha Tie Cave Mountain. Cui Ying knelt on both knees and cried three times in Chinese: "Comrade Luo Shengjiao!"
This is Luo Shengjiao's second burial.

With the arrival of North Korea's military and political leaders and volunteer army leaders, the people of hundreds of miles came in dresses of festivals and various sacrifices. When the leaders of the volunteer army came to Luo Shengjiao's cemetery, the coffin that was buried in Luo Shengjiao had been dug out, and the North Korean girls were scrubbing the coffin with snow.
The funeral officially began. With the sound of military calls and the sound of the deafening gunshots, everyone paid tribute to Luo Shengjiao and observed silently. Then everyone moved Luo Shengjiao's coffin to a new cemetery. This is the tomb prepared by the old lady in the village. It is a treasure land with excellent feng shui on the back of the green mountains and facing the long river.
The old lady had cleaned the cement-cast tomb the day before, just waiting for Luo Shengjiao to rest in peace here.
inherited the will of Luo Shengjiao
After burying Luo Shengjiao, the young Cui Ying wrote a letter to Luo Shengjiao's father who was far away in China, hoping to be his son. Luo Shengjiao's father Luo Dikai endured the grief and agreed to Cui Ying's request.
The next year, Luo Diekai came to North Korea with a condolence group. He was personally received by Kim Il-sung, and accompanied by Kim Il-sung, he swept the tomb of Luo Shengkai.
At the kind invitation of Cui Ying's family, Luo Dikai came to Cui Ying's hometown, a village that has been renamed "Luo Shengjiao Village".

On the day when the old man Luo Dikai arrived, the villagers and neighboring residents began to prepare before dawn. The young men cleaned the road more than 20 miles long, the girls picked bright golden dalai and held it on their chests, the old men wore black hats, and waited for the old man Luo Dikai’s arrival with the highest etiquette.
When Luo Dikai just stepped into the "Luo Shengjiao Village", Cui Ying took the lead and ran over, shouting: "Dad, Dad, my Chinese dad!"
"Cui Ying, Cui Ying, my child!" Luo Dikai also took steps to greet Cui Ying.
The father and son hugged each other affectionately, and Luo Dikai's tears burst out, as if in his arms was his son Luo Shengjiao. That night, Cui Ying and his family sat on the kang mat with Luo Dikai, happily reminiscing about the family.
1 In early 1954, North Korea sent the third delegation to visit China. Cui Ying was elected as one of the members of the delegation and visited Luo Shengjiao's hometown Xinhua . Cui Ying was very happy to learn the news, and his wish was finally coming true.
sat on the train to Hunan. Cui Ying, who was looking forward to meeting Luo's father and mother earlier, kept complaining: "The train is too slow, too slow..." In fact, not only Cui Ying was anxious, but Luo Diei was also anxious in Xinhua. Since she learned that Cui Ying was going to come to Xinhua with the delegation, she has been constantly asking county cadres to inquire about the situation.

The North Korean delegation visited Chairman Mao’s hometown Shaoshan , and then went to Xinhua, the hometown of Luo Shengjiao. On that day, more than 3,000 people from all walks of life in Xinhua rushed to the station to greet him in the rain. As soon as Cui Ying walked out of the car door, she saw Luo Dikai coming to greet him and immediately ran over.
The father and son hugged each other tightly again, and the other people who came to greet him were moved to tears when they saw this scene.
After coming to the lounge, Cui Ying anxiously asked Luo’s mother and her younger brother and sister where they were before she could take a sip of water. Choi Ying smiled happily when she heard them packing their rooms and preparing meals at home. After the grand welcome meeting, the North Korean delegation came to Luo Dikai's new home. Cui Ying met her mother and younger brother-in-law whom she had been thinking about day and night, and quickly stepped forward to hug them tightly.
That night, Luo Shengjiao's mother arranged four tables of wine and food to entertain the North Korean delegation. Everyone was as close as a family and laughed. During the meal, Luo Shengcai's mother frequently picked up food for Cui Ying, and her younger brothers and sisters kept pouring wine for Cui Ying's glass. Cui Ying kept toasting her parents and reminded her younger brothers and sisters to study hard.
After dinner, members of the North Korean delegation left, while Cui Ying stayed at the Luo family for the night. Cui Ying reported her learning situation to Luo's father and mother Luo. When she heard that Cui Ying had excellent academic performance and played an exemplary role in the Youth League organization, Luo Dikai and his wife showed a gratified smile.

After breakfast the next day, Cui Ying will leave with the delegation and go to the next place to visit. Luo Dikai gave Luo Shengjiao’s graduation certificate before his death to Cui Ying, and told him to study hard as hard as his brother Shengjiao. Luo Shengjiao's mother took out the cloth shoes she had driven out of due to illness and told Cui Ying to study hard and serve the people well.
Cui Ying could no longer bear this situation and cried and said to Luo Diekai's family: "Don't be sad, mom and dad, I will come back to visit my parents in the future. I will inherit the will of Shengjiao brother and be your good son."
1955, Cui Ying fulfilled her promise, picked up the gun like Luo Shengjiao, and became an ordinary soldier in the Korean People's Army. When Luo Diekai visited North Korea for the second time with the delegation, Cui Ying had already started a family and started a career. Not only did she become a school-level officer of the Korean People's Army, but she also gave birth to four children.
When the four children surrounded Luo Dikai and called "Grandpa", Luo Dikai shed tears of excitement again.During the separation, Cui Ying and his wife gave their youngest child to Luo Dikai as their grandson. Luo Dikai accepted it happily and named his grandson "Luo Jihong" to show their grand cause of the Chinese and Korean people.
Unfortunately, Cui Ying died in 1977 on duty. A North Korean soldier who was rescued by a martyr in the footsteps of his life-saving benefactor and eventually became a martyr.
